I bet there are 1000s pics on the 200 section with photos of BFGs ;) . Run a search using KO2 and you'll get gobs of hits. Here's one thread with both close-ups and overall pics.

You can also use Google and click on IMAGES after you search 200 land cruiser + BFGoodrich

I would venture a guess that close to half have BFG’s on them in the us

And here are pictures. Both with my current wheels and a few years back when I had KO2s on the OEM 20’s.

On my 2013 LX I went through my first summer (2014) with the OEM latitudes, the next spring I kept the OEM 20’s and switched to KO2s as my summer tires as they were the only AT I could get in a 275/60-20 and had good reviews. We almost live out of the LX all summer in Alaska, I off road hard in the back country of AK and NW Canada. Ran them for 4 summers and my 0.02. They suck in the snow, I run dedicated winter tires (Nokian) but we can get snow any month of the year (had a dusting 1k’ above my house this week). They also suck in the rain, we do get rain similar to the PNW in much of S central AK, we can also get heavy rain and thunderstorms storms in the interior. They also suck in the sand, we subsistence fish for salmon, set up a “fish camp” on the beach where I filet, vac pack and freeze (hopefully) 40-60 fish a day over 4-5 hours of fishing. It is a ~3 mile drive over dunes across soft sand to get there. Also aren’t that great off road.

So here we have a tire that is worse in the snow, worse in the rain, worse on the highway, worse for mpg, and not noticeably better off road? In 2018 I got a set of tundra take offs with ~30% worn defender m/s as compared to the KO2s they were much better in the snow and rain, much better on the highway, I got 1-2 mpg better towing my camper, better in the sand and they were not worse off road. This spring when I finally gave up on ever finding a set of RWs in AK and got a set of 17” Alpha Equipt (thank you tire rack sale) it was my plan to get another set of defenders. Given shortages and the fact I needed summer tires beginning of June I went with another set of KO2s in 285/70-70. I guess what I’m getting at is are they awful tires, no, are there much better options in terms of safety and function, yes. I’ll probably keep these for 1-2 summers and when the shortages (and prices) level out get a set of defenders (or similar) and sell these KO2’s.

Only scenario I can think of where KO2s would be an optimal tire is somone that drives >50% of the miles on their truck on lose rock/tech off road, that dosn’t regularly get snow or rain. SW USA and avid off-roader or lives way out on a homestead?

I had the same issue with my previous set of Ko2. Absolutely scary on heavy wet roads. They also like to wonder on grooved freeway lines. Never again

Agreed. BFG are all show and no go. I can't wait to wear mine out.

I'm on my second set on the 200 - love them. I live in the PNW and do plenty of rainy weather highway and trail driving. They absolutely suck in the mud but snow, ice and rain are all reasonably good IMO. There are better tires in every category but KO2's are supposed to be the jack of all trades and they perform just fine for my needs.

Love mine except for the declining fuel mileage with age. I am at 42k miles on them. Still quiet on the highway. Rotate them every 5k miles.

My tires: BFG KO LT285/60/18 Load Range D.

No issue in rain and snow and rocks. Bad in mud though, but that is a given. OK in sand. It has exceeded my expectations, especially how quiet it is even now!

Still deciding what to do next. Do the same. Or get the Michelin LTX TRAIL in 265/70/18.

In my somewhat large group of off-roading friends, we have never had a premature failure out on the trail with a BFG KO2. I have been wanting to try some Nitto's, but I'm not sure the risk of humiliation within the group is worth the reward.

In my group, we're down 4x KO2s in the last year. Granted, they are the most represented tire with about 1/3 of the group having them, increasing the chances. But they are also the only tires we've lost on the trail. I don't fault KO2s, but I wouldn't count on them to be stronger than other comparable ATs either.

That top one looks like a pinch flat due to running way to large rims (and way to little sidewall) off road. That person needs smaller rims not different tires.

Yup and yup. We're all admiring how chunky his new Baja Bosses are. Watching how these new kids on the block shake out.

Nice, Looks like he went from from a 20-22” to a 17” ?

275/55R20 (32s) on a 20" wheel. A similar fitment to what some LXs run. Short sidewall but combined with the narrow 275 on an 8.5" width wheel has been a liability.

He fixed it good, now running 33s on 17s.

Separate Raptor buddy blew the sidewall of a 35 on 17s. Doesn't prove anything but things happen.

Ahhh so you left out vital user error information to actively deceive. Got it. Expected BS. :D

Pretty sure KO2 sidewall is stronger than your current Toyo and past Falken tires. Now, user error and/or terrain may add more reason to failure. Nothing is invincible. But it has been shown in past that KO2 sidewall is among the strongest if not top among AT tires. (MTs often have very stout sidewall.)
