...amazing cell service in and around Death Valley....

This morning at the top of Silver Canyon on my way down to Bishop to meet up with the rest of the crew....

Where is Silver Canyon? I've been all over DV and don't recall this name.

If you come across any Sexton's in Bishop say "hi" for me.

Silver Canyon is above Bishop. It is on the west side of the White Mountains.

The DV cell tower was installed about one year or so ago. It is in the Furnance Creek area. If you can see the buildings, you can get reception. Both a good and bad development......

No wonder the cell reception is so good. Im kind of amazed at what im getting out here (in Bishop now).

There is pretty much constant cell reception on Highway 395. All the skiers/snowboarders going to Mammoth demand it....

If still in Bishop, stop at the Valley Meadows Farms (north end of town) for a great meat market (jerky is great). Stop at Schatts Bakery in town for awesome baked goods (look for the traffic jam)

Yup. Went to the bakery after lunch down in Big Pine at the Chevron. The Mexican lady there makes epic asada tacos.

Two years ago on our last DV trip we could barely get a signal on 395 let alone getting signal in DV.

Like a classic 80 series owner (Mike would be proud of me), I am sitting at Starbucks waiting for the crew coming down from Monitor Pass....free wifi is a good thing....

I do to. But for different reasons. If Bishop wasn't in California I'd consider living there. At least I have siblings to visit.
