Here is a picture of my 1999 Lexus LX470 (100 series).

As Lexus has decided not to cover their defective paint, I have decided I want to have to car painted.

I also happen to hate "Smokey Topaz Mica" with a passion. Everyone else I seem to come in contact with hates it as well.

So, the truck is tu-tone. I was thinking of having the truck painted fire engine red (bright red) and the trim (lower plastic pieces and bumpers) painted a medium grey.

Roof rack would in theory be painted grey as well, but I don't want to terribly inconvience anyone on here. I just don't know how to photoshop, otherwise I'd do it myself.

Alex

P.S. Use whichever pic you seem fit (easiest). Although, the car has the wind deflector on it (I like it).

Wanted to add a picture for the type of look I'm going for (yes, it is my old car, and yes I loved it way way way more than my Lexus)

Thanks so much. You're awesome.

On a side note:

I thought it would be love at first sight, but I'm not so sure....
Opinions would be awesome too if anyone wants to chime in.

Here it is in a darker shade;

Different take on red:

The really dark one (that looks somewhat brown) is interesting, however that's not a color I want my car to be.

The wine red is definitely cool, just not loud enough.

I think the bright red will look better when it's actually on the truck. Still thinking about it though

looks like a grand cherokee with the red.

go with dune beige. everyone should own atleast one dune beige cruiser. I painted my 80 that color and loved it.

if you want to take it a little further, put the white top on it.

Close, I think...looks sorta like an FJ Cruiser.

I will make a promise to you guys, I will NEVER have the truck painted dune beige (with or without a white top)

If I had say... a FJ62, wouldn't even think twice, I'd most likely do Dune Beige. (That's probably going to be my next truck, for fun of course)

That's exactly what I was thinking. Laredo.
