It's growing on me too. The bezel will be the older oval bezel painted the same color white as the roof.

Shocks ordered will be hand carried over by my buddy who's moving to the PI. !0" travel in front 12" travel in the back. Not SOA numbers I know but that will be at a latter date

Dave, thanks for the message and the link...very nice. I haven't posted much on mine lately because of other stuff getting in the way. Besides only a little progress to report. As you know getting parts here is a real pain. I wanted to convert the steering wheel to a tilt one and the only thing we can find is one out of a L300 so we ordered that and some other stuff from Manila. My 65th bday is in Sept. so that's the new shoot for date. Its very slow here as you know but at least nothing is going to be overlooked. I subscribed to your build so I can keep up with it...hope your doing good, will keep in touch...Lee

Hey Lee, glad you liking it. Just looked at yours as well coming along nicely. Where did you find 70 series axles? I looked all over for them and no love. I really really really wanted a set of 70's with cable lockers. We're finishing up the truck now on the 40 axles SUA, but I'm picking up a set of 60's with a FF in the back to build up and swap in. If I like the way it drives SUA I'll stay that way if not, new springs and SOA we go lol. Also looking at an 84 60 series with a Turbo'd 3b to be a more friend and family friendly toy when I get home. It will stay a good bit closer to the ground than the 45 lol.

Got a few more pictures, bezel and headlights done and on, I asked him to put on the old style oval bezel but he put on the later model rectangle. Jury is still out on whether I like it or not. If not he can redo it when I get home. I am digging the white roof and bezel though.

Looking super pimp! The ac is a must for me too... :D I think the rectangular bezel looks good.

Ok, so we had a bit of drama yesterday. Bong has been telling me since the begining he will put in a NOS gauge cluster, should be about $200 US. Now that we are ready to wire it up he hadn't been able to find one for the last 3 weeks. He emailed me yesterday he found one..........for $750. F*?! me! I said no way we'll do auto meter guages.

Autometer Sport Comp (only line from auto meter with all the gauges I needed and a kph speedo)

Mounted in Trail Candy cluster. We're trying to fit the 3 3/8" speedo and six 2 1/16" gauges (ammeter, fuel level, oil pressure, water temp, boost, and egt) as shown below. Brian is working it out on CAD to see if it will work, if not it will be 4 in the cluster and 2 in the dash. Kind of hard to see in the picture but I drew in 2 red circles where the extra gauges will go. He's also making me a matching glove box door.

With getting the new fuel gauge I asked Bong to check the ohms on the sender..... He replied whats an ohm I don't know how. Which sparked a search for a fuel cell and new sender to replace the tank and so I could get the gauges ordered. None availible over there bigger than 40L (about 10 gallons). So I found Autometer AM-3310 universal programable fuel guage, works with any ohm rating so the tank and sender in there will work and any replacement I put in the future will work. T*ts up!

Next problem was autometer doesn't make a mechnical 3 3/8" mechanical KPH speedo. Was tearing my hair out till I found Marlin Crawlers VSS-MC that converts the mechanical output at the transfer case to an electrical output allowing the use of any electric speedo. To cool.

So as of now all the fires are put out, we're back on track for a first week of August completion. Stay tuned for more updates!

Oops got all that in there and forgot to put my girlfriend is picking up the snorkel tommorow and delivering it to Bong. Told her to take the camera and do what a Pinay does best....take lots of pictures! More updates as I get them.

Just got an email from Brian at Trail Candy, six 2 1/16" gauges won't fit without alot of trouble getting it mounted, or running out of room...

So I'll be mounting Speedo, Ammeter, Fuel Guage, Oil Pressure, and Water Temp in the gauge cluster and boost and EGT in the dash. He's also making me a matching glove box door to go with the gauge panel. Panel is as below.

Dave, got the 70 axles out of a LC Micheal use to race here, they were already modified so that saved some time..I like the square bezel but that's just me..I'll try to get some pictures of the mods we made on the dash, I to have under dash A/C but we are modifying it to vents in the dash. I'm cutting the dash at the corners and tilting it up a few degrees to allow me to see the gauges better and give more room for the A/C pluming. Later, Lee

He's Alive!

Work is awefully bad for keeping this up to date. We rig moved for the last two days and I've been chomping at the bit to see what is going on back home. Fired up the internet this morning after no coms for 3 days and my girlfriend had emailed pictures of the exhaust.

Not exactly as planned. When I get home I'll be chopping it vertical an inch or so above the roof and adding a flapper to keep the rain out. For those of you more observent than me you'll notice that theres some exhaust coming from that stack.....

Horrible picture but Tinytach says that Wilbur is alive! Thats right folks after 8 months and numerous organ transplants Wilbur has been brought to life again. Bong says he should be headed to town tommorow for a basic tuning and once the instruments are in we'll do the big tune to see what the 13bt can do.

With the great news about Wilbur regaining a heartbeat I was a little dissapointed to see these from my snorkel guy.

Apparently his guy is having issues getting the logo to mold out correctly. Good news is they are redoing it sans logo but not sure how long to get the new mold done and the snorkel ready for bong to install. Stay tuned folks, we're almost there.

I'm not a very trusting person by nature and not doing bodily harm to Bong over the last 8 months has been hard. I am so glad to see him running again, and really looking forward to driving again after I go spend a couple days at the shop helping Bong finish up the last of it. 11 more shifts at work and I'm on my way home. My buddy moving over is hand carrying the gauges and shocks over from the states and we'll be in the home stretch Shooting for an August 1 complete date for this stage of the build. I have a line on a set of 60 series axles to swap in so I have a FF in the back, but I'm going to take some time driving and rebuilding the axles before we get to that point.

Dash wired up. I brought Bong some protected toggle switches and instructions to get the toggles he needed for the wiring and swap the covers onto the new switches. He decided that was to much work so he used the old pull knobs for everything except the new fog lamps going on the bumper. I'm not a happy camper.

The knob in between the toggle and the cigarettle lighters is switching places with the toggle and the toggle will be red.

Really not happy he didn't listen and took it upon himself to cut the dash with out talking to me but I think I can save it afterwords using stuff from customrockers.com.au like below. Should be able to make my cut around the holes he made and install the rockers. My buddy next door is a Sr electrician on the rigs so he just got volenteered to take care of the switch stuff after I get it home.

So thats the story for today, 2 steps forward one step back. But thats life isn't it?

Not truck related but people ask me why I live in the Philippines when I could live anywhere in the world. My answer is where else will you find people so devoted to the local beer they make monuments to them. This is in a guys yard, nothing to do with the brewing company. For those that don't know Red Horse is a red beer somewhat similar in flavor to Killians but fortified with the local gin. comes in 500ml, 1L, and something around 1.5-2L. Not bad stuff but wicked hangovers lol.

Oh do I agree!!! Try downing a couple of liters of Red Horse Extra Strong real quick! haa haa! Could not find my ass with both hands but then again I gave up drinking much years ago soooo I am a weeine now ha ha! Rob

When I first came here I was a fat guy too!! Now I stay at 220 and 6'2". Big change of diet lol!

Ironically Dave that is the color I want to change to and get away from the Yaller on mine lol. As you know we cannot change colors here without an LTO permit. I love the white bezel on there against that grey. I wish I could do a frame off on my rig but just barely have enough money to keep it going. Family sucking me dry. Not the wife that is, she is a tight wad and sees things my way and I would not trade her for nothing but her family? OMG!!!! I would give them away in a heart beat. We are now financing Beth's lil' sister to go to college. Oh well!! Love the work on your 45.
