I love the bonatti gray its even better in person. I hear you on the family thing, my girls great the family are another story. Just bought them a trike so they can earn their own money, told them thats it cut off. We'll see how that goes.......

Back to the truck. The snorkel guy says he may or may not be able to have the snorkel done correctly in the near future so I'm looking for other options. Any one have pictures of a 13bt running a snorkel from the drivers side? See a few running the hose over the back or the motor to the air box and air box to the turbo.

Dave I have a friend here that does restore work on 40s and Zukes and they make snorkle copies like the Safari he has a 13B in a Int Scout with a Snorkle. I'll check further and see what he offers. His name is Leo Landrito in Taguig. will let you know asap.

Rob

Rob that would be awesome cause I need to figure out something stat. I'll be home in 10 days and he's trying to have everything done except for the parts Berk's bringing from the states with him. Some more pictures of the engine bay and the truck runnig.

Engine bay and aircleaner positioning.

Bong said he ran 2" exhaust from the turbo to the stack, and the stacks 2 7/8". I'm a thinking I'll be pulling the 2" out and having 2 7/8" run from the turbo all the way back, and tucked up tighter to the frame rails. But thats something for phase two I think.

Looking good! He did do a good job bending the exhaust stack but it probably would look better with a flap on the top like you mentioned. The stack looks painted, did he paint it? If he did I'm assuming that would eventually burn off. You had mentioned in a previous post that he did the opposite of what you told him in regards to the dash switches and that made me think about all the times I've told people doing something: do it this way and here's the parts, but no they do it the other way and then say what are these extra parts? Grrrrr! The point of that story was to let you know some of us at least understand your frustration. ;) Can't wait to see some video of it in action when it's done!

Glad someone else feels my pain. I'm pretty sure it is pain on the exhaust, hoping he used header paint because I'm sure he didn't ceramic coat it lmao. I'm glad he bent it to keep the rain out and its a easy fix chopping it and installing the flapper. Looking on line about making an internal flapper for miter cutting the exhaust, that would look awesome. Theres a few more bits we had a come to Jesus meeting about today on IM. Holes in the doors for mirrors when the mirrors are going on the fenders, what happened to the sliders/step supports, scratches in the paint etc, and not taking direction or asking questions when in doubt. He said all will be ok when I get back. My girlfriend talked to him on the phone and said he's very scared for me to come home and find it not right. Soooooo we will see. He said if they have good weather tommorow the sliders should be done, painted and on the truck. We will see we will see. He does awesome work when he does what he's supposed to, and I'm a control freak on projects. My brother keeps telling me just calm down we'll fix everything after we get it back from him. 8 more shifts on the rig, man do I need a drink lmao.

Slowly but surely we go on. Snorkel guy emailed me this morning that the smooth sided snorkel should be ready tommorow so cross your fingers. He did send me a picture of the two tips hes includeing. 99% sure I'll be running the square on.

Also think i may have solved the airbox problem does anyone know what the dimensions on the turbo intake flange and air box exit flange is? I found a turbo rated flexible intake hose thats 3" connections on both sides that looks like it will work till I can build a better airbox setup down the road. Anyone know for sure the intake flange size of the turbo and the outlet off the airbox?

FYI its 3" at the turbo 2.5" at the airbox outlet. GF is working on getting the hose and we're either going to cut out the stock outlet elbow or put in a spacer to brink it up to 3".

Few new pictures. Bong finished up some sliders that also act as supports to the steps. Figued a little bracing on the steps couldn't hurt (IE I'm a big fella) and a little extra protection ain't bad either. First pics are the design we ripped off, then bongs copy

Ultimately I would get a Donaldson Topspin Pre-cleaner for your snorkel since I'm sure you'll be on a lot of dusty roads.

You can see it here on our rig.

It's suppose to eject up to 85% of debris out of a side vent before the air goes into your air filter, thus keeping your filter cleaner longer and reducing wear on your intake.

I've actually looked at them and they look like they work great.......but its so ugly lmao. We'll see how it goes, I'm planning on building a new airbox myself in round two to add better flow and filtration. If I notice a problem with the set up the topspin would definantly be an option. But then I'm not opposed to doing maintanace at shorter intervals so we'll see.

Oh that hurts... :) You are right though, they kinda look like a paper towel dispenser. :D

Passenger side snorkel....check. Remodeled snorkel is complete getting picked up today by the mechanic or tommorow by my girlfriend. Doesn't look half bad.

And so the saga continues. Bong was in Manila today for some parts so I had him grab the universal intake hose so he can run the engine with the air filter instead of some stockings over the turbo... So heres the before and after.

Now dear readers please think better of me than a pink intake hose would imply there weren't any other colors availible and its better than running the turbo open or through a stocking... But fear not it will be replace with the following upon my arrival. Parts from Intercooler Pipe Fabrication - Silicone Intake Systems Auto Parts. First is a 3" 45 elbow to com off the turbo to the 12" long 3" OD aluminum pipe to a 3"-2.5" reducer to the airbox all held together with t-clamps. Got silicone fittings to plumb the snorkel to the airbox as well. Should be nice and water tight and leak free.

Lhyns picking up the snorkel and delivering it to the mechanic tommorow, and has promised lots of pictures of the truck. Stay tuned for more tommorow.

Lhyn had a trying day riding the bus,but she got the snorkel over to Bong. I think it was a worthwhile trip for her.....

She was in a rush so she didn't miss her bus back home, but she did get a few shots of stuff I haven't seen yet.

Running board supports/sliders.

Engine bay shot with most of the goodies in. Lhyn said the white stuff is where Bongs buffing the paint. Thats Bong hiding on the other side of the truck. 4 more days on the rig to go.

The fun continues the snorkel guy told me the outlet for the snorkel was 3" so I ordered a 3" to 2.5" connector for the snorkel to airbox connection. Bong sent me these today.

Grrrrrrrrrr. So I just had to order a 2 3/4" to 2 1/2" silicone connector overnight. I ordered replacements for the turbo to crossover and crossover to intake manifold as well while I was at it. If anyone wants to know its a 2" straight connection from turbo to crossover and 2 1/2" straight connection crossover to intake. Paid more in shipping than for the parts.....again!

And a couple more detailed pictures of the snorkel.
