Progress! Almost there, and I head home tommorow to finish the last little bits (gauges, shocks, and intake.)

Hood attached permanantly, fender mirrors on, snorkel mounted, door glass in and all rubbers and felts installed, tail gate painted and installed. Looks like a truck again lol. Supposed to go to the A/C an for freon today or tommorow (supposed to go last week too lol). Almost there I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

s*** man, that looks gooooood....

**** man, that looks gooooood....

 Thanks man, its turning out nice. Got back early yesterday morning, had the welcome home party last night, should be headed over to finish up the truck in the morning. Plan is to hook up the intake, shocks, water temp and oil pressure gauges and drive it home. Then we will finish the gauge wiring and sensor install here at the house. I'll post up some pics then.

Went to Bongs and got some more done, intake is in (snorkel to airbox, airbox to turbo), new crossover connectors in, shocks & stabalizer on, new lugnuts (locking and keyed regular nuts since i'd like to keep the 37's on the truck....) stack cut and pinger installed, autometer gauges installed in trailcandy pod, started hooking up senders. Went to test the ohms on the fuel level sender and.....someone (Bong....) had pulled the wires out dropping the tank so new sender was bought after I got back home and will be going back in the next couple days with it. A/C comppresor also took a sh*t new one going in tommorow and charging the freon up.

Can anyone confirm wether or not an Auto meter ammeter can be run off a 24v alternator? I'm getting mixed reviews. I already swapped the bulbs to 24v in the other gauges and they will be powered through a rectifier to provide 12v, but the ammeter feeds right of the alternator. Truck should be done done and in my posession first of next week.

Couple from yesterday.

New intake in.

Hopefully more tommorow after I drop off the fuel sender.

Realized I hadn't updated in a while. Ended up going to Bongs and taking it away from him as he couldn't finish it correctly. Had multiple break downs on the way home, steering (fell off), fuel, acellerator cable snapped (not the right one) etc etc etc. Got Wilbur limped home and back to running and driving condition after a few days. Got to drive him around for 3 weeks then dropped him off at another shop for the 60 series axles, soa'd coils, different power steering setup etc etc when i was leaving for work. Hopefully will get a few pictures as they go along and Ivan does a better job than Bong did.

Well grrrr... Hoping for better stories about the next guy. ;)

Should be he's offering to send pictures with out being asked and had 3 bad ass rigs going out the door before he could start mine. Fingers crossed!

Some more progress the front suspention is out coils and links going in. From what i understand he's using either 2" or 4" lift springs for an 80 series for the conversion along with 60 series axles (FF in the rear of course :grinpimp:). Any one know how a lockright compares to a detroit for drivability in the rear? I have a line on one and had detroits in the rear of other trucks and didn't mind the locking and unlocking of the detroits, just never had a lockright.

Your cruiser will look extremely tall with the spring cap position.:crybaby:
Are you using a 80 series articulation?

It was pretty tall to begin with, almost 8' at the roof with the leaf springs. Should settle to within 2" of where it was once the weight is on it. The springs are 80 series lift coils.

Not related to the build but for the hardcore cruiser guy what a way to go. Yes its a hearse. Saw it last time home.

^^^ That's what I want my coffin to be transported in!

Little update been busy with other things but Wilburs coming along.

3rd steering set up. I blew the 40 series box up, Ivan swapped in a 80 series that blew so we're now working with a Nissan Patrol box which apparently has a much larger stronger shaft, who knew :meh:.

60 series front end installed with coils and links. Not really digging yellow springs but if it works why not.

More as I get em.

Many Patrols over there?

Quite a few patrols. The older ones have a bit of a following like the landcruisers, and the new ones are a big status symbal for the locals.

Is it wrong that everyday at some point i open this thread and look at my truck? Lol I'm so ready to get home and hopefully get Wilbur back on the road.
