I think my Pesky heater hose went on the 80. The truck ran hot with me and I've got an antifreeze leak at the rear of the engine. I haven't looked too closely at it yet, but I went ahead and ordered a silicone phh kit for it and will replace it anyway if its not the problem. I added some water to it and drove it another 5 miles. It seemed ok and didn't run hot with me. I hope it's ok. What ya think?

My blind diagnosis wasn't correct:( It wasn't the PHH. It was another hose close to it. We cut off the bad end and put it back on for a temporary fix. Now to find a replacement hose...

My PHH blew about 4 months ago. It wasn't a big blow though the hose just cracked and slowly let fluid out. The 80 did overheat for about 5 min. Filled the radiator with water and drove the remaining 30 miles back home. I tried to put it back ariginal. But it was tearing up my arms getting in there. So I ripped the metal hose out and just added a long hose to make up for the pipe. Works just fine. Should last another 260k. 1 month later my headgasket blew. I'm assuming from the overheat issue I had. Maybe you will get lucky.

Whatever you do, don't let it overheat!!!

I know! I know! I don't know what happened. I'm used to checking all my gauges. I guess I just got lazy. I got a new hose from sparks. Now I just have to put it on...

Guages can lie but luckly in a cruiser they usually tell you their hot when they aren not. But luck that you caught it in time. Doc:)
