Do performance brakes for 2002 LX470 exist? I don't want to increase rotor size but would love something better than stock. I love my 16" wheels.

Duiser's Offroad has bundles that work well... mine have been great. My old rotors were warping, so I put a whole kit. Also I think Stoptech makes a kit.

PowerStop makes some good ones. I put the rotors and pads on my 80 and really liked them. Will do my 100 when needed. Got mine off ebay as it was much cheaper than I found anywhere else.

I put the power stop kit on my 99 LC and have been extremely happy. I can't tell you if they are truly better then oem as the brakes on the lc were rusted and in horrible condition, so I don't know what a good set feels like, but they stop a very heavy vehicle quite well. I bought the complete 4 wheel kit at rockauto for $340 iirc. Was a great set, had every clip, shim, anti rattle, grease, caliper pin boots and guides. Been running for about 1500 miles and they are absolutely quiet so far. Be sure to read and follow the bed in procedure.

I put a powerstop kit on my pathfinder, only lasted me 6 months.

OEM brakes are running $400 shipped for front and rears.

DBA slotted and OEM pads here. Very satisfied.

I installed Duisers brake kit when we bought our truck and I felt a 30-40% improvement. No idea how this compares to new OEM, because my fronts could have just been in terrible condition.

I went with OEM Rotors and Hawks LTS pads, very happy! No squeaking and nice brake feel.

For a heavily laden 100, such as mine, and if 18" wheels are not a deal breaker (apologies to the OP as you stated 16")...then IMO Stoptech BBK rules.

Next best performing brake system (sorry my experience with OEM brake rotors, pads and mountain passes doesn't move the same meter's needle...), ART rotors + Porterfield carbon/kevlar pads was a distant 2nd place finish.

For the utmost in brake performance, peak power, modulation, pedal travel, pedal feel, etc., the Stoptech BBK system is a game changer; again on a heavily laden 100.

What we really need for this platform are mods that help gain braking leverage.

By increasing the tire diameter and overall weight of the car, the original leverage in the brake system is no longer sufficient. Other platforms have mods where they can space out the brake caliper in diameter and install larger rotors. Effectively gaining leverage primarily, but also giving the advantage of additional heat sink capacity with a larger rotor. 33's aren't so bad. But 35's really reduce the braking leverage.

I wonder if there's any compatible larger rotors from say the tundra of the same generation or later generations?

Another way for more leverage would be retrofitting calipers that have larger brake piston bores or finding a master cylinder from another vehicle that has a smaller master cylinder bore.

The 2007+ Tundra rotors do not fit the 100. The "hat" is way taller. The Tundra rotors (and calipers) do fit the 200... bolt in upgrade.

2-piece, 355mm/14" Stoptech/Centric rotors are available for the 100... as well as Brembo.

TeCHis300: No need to reinvent...Stoptech already offers the solution with their BBK (Big Brake Kit) that contains larger diameter rotors and larger calipers designed for the 100 fluid push; no ugly R&D & no risk required.

I have looked online around a total of 4-6 hours and can't seem to find a trd kit that would work with 16's. I do really like the trd brakes though. I worked as a lot tech and felt them on a tundra or 2. Is it possible to just get the trd calipers/trd pads and do a separate rotor? Will the calipers even fit a 99 with 16's? Just would like to find something that adds performance, looks good and preferably in red ;)
