I know the club has a discount arranged with Scott Clark but SC is not in a very convenient location for me so I end up buying many of my LC parts at Town and Country Toyota on South Blvd. When I'm at the parts counter and as the parts guy is running the prices, I always ask if there is any discount for local Land Cruiser Club members. They always hook me up. Always. Most of the time at a deeper discount than at SC. Today was no different. I don't want to get the parts guy in trouble so I won't say the deal I got. Let's just say that I am very, very pleased! All I bought today was a gasket and some shims for a transfer case but the bill was significantly adjusted. Don't be afraid to buy from T&C on South Blvd. They always seem to do right by me.

I ordered those parts yesterday around 11:00. The parts guy told me that the shims may take 5 business days to get there. He called me this morning at 10:30 to tell me that the parts were already in! I spoke to him about the discount he gave me and how much better it was than the discount we get at the other place. He acted like it was no big deal. He said that he knew that if I had an old 'cruiser, I would be back for more parts soon enough (true statement). The parts guy's name is Anthony. Go to Town and Country Toyota. Ask for Anthony. You'll be glad you did!

P.S. If you want to know what the discount was, PM me. I'll tell you but I can't guarantee you'll get the same discount. Heck, you might even do better than I did. Who knows?

Okay. One last shout out to T&C Toyota for their awesome customer service (at least at the Parts Counter). When I went by and picked up my parts, I spoke to Anthony again. He thanked me for my purchase, shook my hand and explained to me that he linked my discount with my name and phone number in their computer. That way the next time I order parts the discount will automatically be applied. Did I mention that it was a substantial discount? Hells yeah!

Sorry to bump an old thread but this one seems the most recent for Charlotte, NC local parts discount. At 166k on my 2008 200 it needs full monty brakes all around, including parking brake shoes, all rotors and pads, debating all the clips, springs and anti-squeal shims "while I'm in there". Looking online would rather pay local taxes and hopefully a good discount over shipping. Town and Country still the go-to?

Meh. T&C has let me down several times since my original post. My parts guy left. I can’t say that they are any better than anywhere else any more. Amayama is the cheapest online. McGeorge Toyota in GA seems to be very competitive online. I refuse to shop at Scott Clark. I still buy from T&C sometimes, but I limit it as much as possible.

But! Scott Clark has the best parts on the market. That’s why they charge 2X what others do.

Well crap guys. Guess I'll keep searching. I do have a guy I like in Service at Scott Clark who came well recommended, had them do some stuff for me on the 200 and I thought he was reasonably price competitive - not as much as H&H of course, but for a dealer, not terrible. I'll see what I can do. If they don't want to play ball then so be it.

Just to clarify, when I spoke about pricing at T&C Toyota I was speaking strictly about over-the-counter parts pricing. I tend to wrench on my own junk, so I do not have any experience with stealership service departments or any other repair shops in our area.

Fully understood - I had them do some stuff I don't have the gear for - baselining fluids type stuff - about to do a full monty brake job, perfectly capable of that in the home garage with no lift, so shopping parts for the job. Checked pricing with them for TPMS stuff - was not competitive, just had local Discount Tire do 1. Planning on full wheels and tires with oem TPMS anyway so there was no point spending a lot now.

I'll let the board know how it goes.
