Parking lights mystery (1 Viewer)

Hi Guys
So I've a 1999 LC 100 series 4.2D .
This vehicle is relatively new to me but since i bought the truck if I parked it up and forgot to turn off the parking lights and walked away they would stay on.
But in the last week if I leave my parking lights on remove the key and open the door the parking lights go off. But if i turn the switch for the lights to off and then on again they will come back on. Is this normal?

Can you send a picture of the light stalk? Do you have automatic light settings?

Since you may not be US based, your trim/options may be different from what I’m familiar with.
