Parking Brake Handle/Bracket - pre '70

My '65 FJ40 has no Parking brake handle/bracket/cable, just a bare underdash... My drum is rebuilt and ready.

As i understand it the early pre-'70 parking brake handle was aluminum, not the steel w/ plastic handle. I also understand it to be very rare.

Any issues w/ putting the '70-'79 version handle, bracket, etc into say my '65 w/ SBC and 3spd trans/xfer?

mostly wondering about mounting and any clearance issues, and then finding an appropriate cable with ends that will work w/ the newer handle and older drum, or if it matters.
