After ten stages, the 200 finally got some air time in the states. I really hate the way versus covers the dakar. Its like one endless teaser reel, plus they only show the open class cars and barely even cover the trucks!!!!

Sorry, I needed to vent.

I agree, and I'm sick of hearing Robby Gordon talk. The 200 did look sweet though!

You gotta love how every vehicle the Dakar organizers use, including the ones used to plan the course, are a Toyota Land Cruiser of some sort. That says a lot about Cruisers. :D

Hi,

I was lucky enough to be able to travel to Chile and Argentina to witness this race.

I was also able to go inside the bivouac in Copiapo, located in northern Chile, where the Atacama Desert leg of the event took place.

Needless to say, I jumped at the opportunity to take as many pictures as I could of the 200 series Land Cruisers of the Toyota Auto Body Team. Now that I'm back home, I'd like to share some of these photos with you. I'm confident that this is the type of photos you won't be able to find easily on the internet.

If you want to see many more photos of all Toyota vehicles I saw taking part in the Dakar you may visit my blog at:

El Blog de Tucán viajero

It's in Spanish, but I guess pictures don't need traslation. Once you are there, you may want to click on the photos, as they don´t show completely on the blog.
