Painting Rims

Who has painted rims? (post pics please)

If you have how did you do it what paint/color/prep did you do?

Mine are faded in places and look well... old. So I was wondering what options there are that could handle some mild offroading.

I think your only option is powdercoating, which is more durable than paint. Probably cost between $50-100 per wheel.

Powder coating is exactly what i'm going to do. A few people here have done it. Lot's of color choices that way too.

I'm going black all the way.

Hey anybody know if the OEM wheels are poder coated finish? I was asking around for pricing on having my wheels powder coated and they said it depended on if the wheels had a natural finish or a powder coated finish.

I guess they need to remove the existing powder coat to apply the new one and it made the price almost double.

The OEM wheels are not powder coated.

I would have guessed the 100 series wheels to be powdercoated and the 80 series not.

I guess it would make sense they weren't because of the prices that people have been having it done at. Same prices I was quoted for non-powdercoated wheels.

Ive searched (not extensively) for better pictures of SINCITY100s uzj. No luck.
Im thinking of getting a 100 next year - hoping they would be good deals then.
Anybody?

I like how it looks in his avatar but its just too small to see the details like the black coated rims. Thanks.

Uh..I guess I should post a pic of my rims up-close, eh ?....

My O.E. wheels appeared to be PAINTED silver with a clear-coat on top. The guy at Wheel shop who PC`ed them said they sandblast and/or chemical dip them to remove the original finish...I paid $70 each to have them done.

My blackies have a VERY durable finish, It is quite difficult to chip or otherwise damage the coating.

I had mine done in "matte" black which has a ultra-low gloss look to it..but if I want them to shine, all I have to do is put a coat of wax on em

Actually a picture of your rig. Is that a greenish or grayish rig? Very nice looking rig in the avatar.

River Rock Green... looks gray at first glance but actually has some green in it.

It's also worth asking him for the pic's. His cruiser is my wallpaper at home. I did a little picture package of all the shot's he sent me and it fills up all 26" of monitor on my desktop

That is NICE! Not disappointed at all.
It looks like a freakin military vehicle.
That pic only lacks the front end...hint hint.

If I get one next year and didnt have to share it with my wife and kids - (deep thoughts).
