So the 100 series is at the body shop getting some love.

This is going to be my daily driver, and it has to have the running boards. My painter decided a white stripe would look nice with the Phantom Grey Pearl, and we plan to paint the wheels with the same grey.

I had plan to keep with the clean white look, and paint the running boards white.

Or should they be grey? The Phantom Grey Pearl is a 2006 Toyota color.

Sorry for the crappy sunset iphone pictures, but we are painting in the am, and I need to make a choice tonight.

So far, the vote from my daughter and wife is to paint it white, and if we don't like it - then shoot it grey. We have even discussed painting the white stripe a color that is not so contrasting. That can be done after using a vinyl tape product. (my daughters vote is UT burnt orange)

What do ya'll think?

Here is a before shot:

The solid white without the fender flares is a much cleaner look. Perfect time to remove them.

Not digging the white stripe (and they're one of my favorite bands) at all.
The 1/2 and 1/2 - white and tan - has a '90s Montero vibe.
The solid white (no flares) has a more modern and upscale look. Best of the three by a mile. ($.02)

All white. Toyota got the color-coding right with the LX-470...and all of the more modern Toyota and domestic SUVs color-code the bumpers on their nicer packages. I color-match rattle-canned my molding and front/rear bumpers on my white 99 and it looks much better IMO.

Also agree all white looks best. I have a white with the different colored molding, front and rear bumpers and I just dipped them black from the molding strip down just to change the look. I thought about doing it white but the shade was off quite a bit.

I think he just had his molding painted... and he's asking color on the running boards. Idk what painter you used, but his suggestion doesnt fit the cruiser IMO. I would get the molding re-painted white and the running boards white.

Really not trying to bash man, but that molding looks bad. If it works for you, then keep it.

Yeah, Iam not sold on the modeling color yet. We went with white for the boards... should have everything back on this weekend, I'll post up a picture. -Mark

personally i'm a fan of the stormtrooper look, i'd have those door bumpers repainted.
