I guess they don't have automotive engineers that grew up in the country working on the designs. Either that, or the bean counters wouldn't allow the extra cost of a vermin excluder on engine and cabin air intakes.

they grew up Japan which is a concrete jungle, so your assumption is probably correct.

I’ve had some luck catching the bastards with sticky traps. I bought a gallon of sticky glue and I make my own on cardboard.

Also, a BB gun works great if you can get a visual sight on them! At night when the bastards work, a flashlight will reflect their eyes and you shoot the bastards !

I’ve had great luck catching mice in half buckets of water set around the outside of shop and house. rodents really need water these times of years and they jump right in!

I made a trap box for rats, the idea is they get used to walking thru the openings and I put seeds in back of traps so eventually they go for them. I’ve only killed one with this method so far.

It’s a never-ending battle, never give up the fight and never surrender! Kill them all let God sort them out!

Then I throw em up on the shed roof to feed the Ravens! Cycle of life!

Due to COVID running rampant through my house the past week, another vehicle that normally gets driven daily sat for several days without moving and that damn woodrat decided to start construction in it. The nest was in the same exact location as the previous nest in the other vehicle from last week. The good news is it had less time to build so it wasn't quite as extensive nor was there nearly as much excrement. I put out some rat traps and caught it the first night. Unfortunately for me, it was only caught on the leg so I had to drown it in a bucket of soapy water this morning. I'm going to leave the traps out a few more nights to see if it has any friends or relatives nearby with the same thoughts of colonization as this one.

I've got 7 packrats and 1.5 dozen mice in the last 3 weeks. Just working out in the garage I saw 3 mice running through the driveway tonight...I've got 7 total traps set tonight.

Found this a few nights ago while trouble shooting the fridge circuit…bastard ate about an inch of wire and took out the seat heaters while it was at it. My glove box cig lighter port stopped working about a month ago so I’ll be tearing into the dash at some point.
