Just bought a Land Cruiser, a well cared for but high-mileage (365k) 1996 model. Not my first off-road vehicle but the first one in about six years and my first LC. Spent a few weeks lurking, devouring info on build ups, and finally pulled the trigger on my first mod...the OME 2" kit from Rocky Road Outfitters. Thanks to all of those who've posted so much great information. I look forward to contributing to the group and this thread documenting my own rig will be the start to that!

Here's what I had to start with: A bone stock 1996 Land Cruiser with 365k miles on the odometer and Kelly all-terrains on the ground.

And here's the Pachyderm after a friend and I spent a few hours in the driveway putting the OME 2" lift on and Mike at Toy Specialists over in Mesa sourced a set of 315/76r16 BFG KM2s for me. The difference is amazing! Not only do I have the added ground clearance I was going for but this truck rides and handles better than almost any other vehicle I've ever owned!

Hey jp_waltz...most immediately I plan on replacing or rebuilding the front calipers which appear to be sticking. An axle re-build is in order and I'll be replacing the bumpers and installing ARB lockers in the coming year. Those are the big jobs. Along the way I'm sure I'll find little mods as well.
