This isn't the trip for her then because there isn't a single service, store, toilet, or trash can for 60 miles :/

I saw a scion around mile 15/Yarborough my last trip! Beside that, the night sky was the trip highlight. I didn't catch anything good, tried out a 12' rod for first time-- awesome casts. My buddy got a few pampano when we were on kayaks out beyond the surf.

Enjoy the trip!! That's a special place.

thanks to the guy that got the ball rolling on this trip. it was fun. when some one told me it would take 3hrs to go 30 miles i was thinking BS. well it really does. time stand still down there. othere then the long drive down the beach and all the wash outs it was a good time. i would do it again.

Beaten by Ballet

I was really disappointed to hear that this trip was going to be a 'no' for me. Am looking to get hooked up with the locals so my boys and I can start enjoying my new to me 80. Doesn't matter anyway - the girls had ballet recital

Looking forward to meeting up at the next meeting.

Well it seems a good time was had by all. As I may have mentioned before my buddy Matt & I had to attend a mandatory company meeting in Houston on Saturday, the end result being we didn't find the group until we reached 34-35mi down the beach about 9:30pm that night. We didn't get to spend anytime fishing really, just setting up the tent in the dark. After one 'adult beverage' we were wiped out, lol. Come Sunday morning I was surprised and delighted by the number of kids running around, though that made finding a place in the dunes for the morning ablutions an adventure all its own! Matt and I had a quick moment to set up a 20ft antenna mast with a 75W HAM radio and were able to pickup the Kingsville repeater, although no one ever responding to a monitoring call. I only got a couple of cellphone pics myself as everyone starting breaking up and heading out...

Thanks to everyone from all the forums who came out. Hopefully we can do this again in the fall, and hopefully I get to be on the beach for more than 12hrs next time, lol.

We had a blast! Lots of fun...and I ended up popping a tire while blasting through the untrodden mounds around Mile 20 on the way home. Lots of trash and wood with nails...
