Hi fellas.
Been having trouble with my '93 fzj80.
Got a really strong fuel smell coming from the exhaust so I figured I'd check all of the sensors.
They are all okay, except for the o2 sensor, which holds around .35 volts on the sensor wire, and doesn't fluctuate as it should.
Previously I'd added an earth strap to the grey wire (ox+), because the car would barely run without it.
I'm not sure why I had to do this because the ox+ works as an earth, although it seems to work better with the earth strap on. By that I mean, with a multimeter, using ox+ as an earth and testing with a 12v cable, I get higher voltage with the earth strap on.
Does anyone know if the Ecu supplies an intermittent earth to this cable thus receiving the intermittent signal back?
Or does the o2 sensor create the intermittent signal with a constant input earth?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
