A day is probably fine if you're not interested in the whole camping experience. Driving out Friday afternoon, getting a hotel room, attending all day Saturday, and driving back Saturday evening would be a good weekend trip.
That sounds like a plan. I just want to make it at least once . If it's not worth the time , it won't be a next time

Last year, a lot of vendors had Expo special pricing. If you go with to buy things. You can save a lot of money. I wasn't in a position to buy last year, but I will probably save enough to pay for the tickets this year.

That is expensive as hell for that event. What do they have there that is worth the price of admission?

That's why I'm not doing the $400 package. Not worth it. Realistically, it's probably only worth a 1 day, but I'll probably do Friday-Saturday and leave early Sunday. I have to shift to nights that weekend, so staying until Monday won't work.
I'll probably get enough discounted stuff and free junk to make up the $200 I'll spend.
There are people who get groups together and camp near the event and then drive in in the morning.

@94YotaGuy you keep mentioning getting a hotel... is that because you can't just camp there and have to pay a bunch extra? I thought the overnight or 2 day package covered camping

I just thought about the fact that fall crawl is right after this basically.. I'll definitely only be doing Saturday if I do go, and use time off for fall crawl

Yep has almost 200 acres. His brother in law has a entire mountain top near Massies Mill to the west I will check and see if the fields will be cleared by then and if he wouldn't mind
Tell me more about this "Fall Crawl" of which you speak! I don't see a thread, (but TBH I haven't looked very hard!)
It is still hush-hush right now but look for details in the near future.

No one goes in there, so it was pretty safe... until now.
