 Hi. I have a 1991 landcruiser with a 4.2l diesel. The engine has been recently fitted with a turbo and a 3" exhaust. For some time now, before and after the turbo and exhaust work, the beast has been overheating. It is fine when trucking along on flat ground at any speed, however when it comes under load in any gear in either high or low ratio the temp starts to climb and it does not stop until I either flatten out, go downhill, or stop and let it cool down. I went up to the Tukino ski field the other day in near blizzard conditions. I climbed up in low ratio 1st and 2nd most of the way with no real strain on the engine. I got to the top and the needle was almost on the red zone. Also when climbing north up the long incline out out of Mangaweka it overheats. I have had the viscous oil in the fan coupling changed, new water pump, and new radiator and it is still overheating. The only other thing I can think off is that the transmission oil coolers (it is an auto with a manual radiator and two transmission coolers fitted) and the spots are blocking the airflow and affecting the ability of the radiator to cool the fluid. Any ideas anyone?

Is it blowing black smoke?
Has anyone touched the adjustment screws on the fuel pump?
