So I removed the overhead DVD player on my 08 model for a TAT trip. I got tired of knocking my head on it when sleeping in the cruiser and my kids are college age and never use it. Once removed none of my dome lights are working now. I've heard some people lose audio but my audio is working the Nav does not and I have annoying lines on the screen so I just keep the screen off. Not really concerned with either of those, but I would like to get the lighting working again. I added a Molle panel in its place and will add an extra dome light on that as well. Anyone have any experience and kept the lighting functions. I'd appreciate the insight. I have searched and read many threads but none that was very helpful.

Thanks,

did you figure out how to get sound back after removing the rear dvd screen?
I remember looking at a different thread where they mention which pins in the overhead display wiring needs to be short to get nav and sound back, but couldn't find the thread now.

check this thread to see if you have any luck,

Post some pics of the back of the DVD unit and plugs - maybe there is a module attached.

I removed mine and don't remember having an issue with lights or sound.

Does anyone have the pin mapping diagram for the white long wiring?
I am thinking of replacing the dvd roof screen with better bigger and latest tech, but want to make sure it plays sound via existing factory sound system.
