Hello,
I need some advise here. My cruiser has been professionally desmog by a cruiser shop. Seemed like everything was running great until it started overheating like crazy when I got home. I thought it was a hot day 90 degrees with AC running uphill. Opened the hood and coolant boiling in the overflow reservior spraying out the tube. I let it cool down and decide to look into it. Realized after another test run that the fan was not working and noticed the belt came off. Looked at the smog pump delete pulley and it looks like it was made out of plastic and it broke. Please look at the photos. I hope I didn't damage the engine for it over heating. How do I fix this issue? Can I go to my local auto store and buy a pulley that will work? What size pulley will work? I appreciate all the help.

If it were me, I’d go right back to the shop that did the desmog and ask for them to check it over and get you a replacement pulley. They should do this for free if you just picked it up from this service.

Does anyone know what size pulley to get? A lot of the auto stores say they don't have anything that can fit. They want part numbers.

I believe it’s around 4.00” in diameter. Here is an example from mcmaster carr. I don’t know what size bore you need is but this should get you pointed in the right direction. Measure your v belt too to get the correct V . I’m not near my truck now but can check later.

EDIT: This one might work too, plus it is steel

As I was going to fill coolant I noticed black gunk in the reservoir tank. Not sure if it is oil or dirt. What do you guys think it is? Should I be concerned?
