Has anyone used the compressor for the suspension for something else after doing a coil swap? I was wondering if i could mount an air tank where the spare used to go (285/70/r17 won't fit there) and use the compressor to top it off if i used it on the trail. My thinking is that I would fill it completely at home with my shop compressor but have the ability to use the factory compressor to add pressure or maintain pressure. Mostly I am thinking the tank would be convenient for airing back up quickly but would be nice to have if I needed to seat a bead should the need arise.

That pump is very low pressure and duty cycle. Would be a waste. Get an ARB twin and never worry!

^ what Dan said. That pump would take forever to recycle an air tank and I would think it could have issues running for that long.

Who's Dan? 😂

I wondered if that would be the case, i just couldn't find any specs on the pump

On my 2003, The previous owner converted the air ride to coils. I find the air compressor kicking on when I have passengers in the rear seat. Is there a sensor that triggers the air compressor when there is a load. How do I turn it off. More annoying than being a problem.

Remove the fuse.

Is there a way to replace the factory compressor with something better like the ARB Dan mentioned but keep it hooked up to the factory air system so that it still works? I think that would be really cool

oh my...that would pop those bags so fast lol

So it would be a lot more work than just replacing the compressor with something more robust...seems like thats not really something worth pursuing then

You could potentially add a pressure switch to keep the psi down, but not sure what the advantage would be. Typically people want on-board air to inflate tires or run air tools or activate lockers, in which case you won't be running the stock air springs.

OR you want OBA to air up a raft or something and dont care about offroading, in which case it could be worth it! With enough $ you can make anything work.
