Got my license, need to go through my equipment tonight but assuming I have everything I need and nothing is falling apart after being in the closet for the last 6 years, I'll be wetting a line in the West River in Jamaica, VT tomorrow.

Still haven't gotten mine even tho my fishing buddy is constantly bugging me.
Expect some good lies when you get back!

Lots of fishing, but no catching today. GOrgeous weather, but my limited fly selection and out-of-practice casting certainly didn't help.

Got my son out there though, which was great. He gave it about the same 15 min. he gave "regular fishing." He'd uch rather chase frogs. My wife, however, is very interesting in getting her own setup and having this as something we do together as a family.

Me and the boy.

About 20 minutes before that shot I saw a 10"+ Rainbow about 15 feet in front of me. I presented 2 different flies for him to ignore before he moved off. I look forward to more time on this river this summer for sure.

I did a bunch of fishing yesterday too. Early morning up on lake st Kathrine i pulled in a bunch of rock bass with a popper, and then late afternoon at the local trout pond I got a couple nice brookies, one about 15.5". Hendricksons were hatching big up there...awesome.

FYI Orvis is having their big tent sale this weekend. 50% off reels and good deals on rods. I've got my eye on a 7'9" Zero gravity 4 piece midflex to keep in the cruiser as a small creek rod. marked down to $250. I need to find some less expensive hobbies...

Great picture Dave! 15 minutes is pretty good if you aren't catching!

Went out in Pleasant Bay yesterday with a buddy. We got a few schoolies largest being about 21in on popers and sluggos. Tried the tube and worm around the Nauset inlet with no luck. It was good to go but sucked we didnt catch dinner. Got my first striper of the year, its all down hill from here! On to Tuna next!
Talk about a motivator to work on the boat!
:D

Got my NEW tuna rod and new-to-me Penn 50 all rigged up the other day too. Lamaglass custom rod 6 roller guides, first 2 being double rollers, rigged with some flourocarbon Tuna Tuna Tuna!

Cold and raining tonight, 3 Browns in the 10-12" range all taken on a bead head nymph.
Used a 2 weight rod my Dad gave me.

Looks like it was a good day!
How did she like it?

She LOVED it, we had to take turns bouncing back and forth to help Jack though so neither of us really got a lot of quality fishing time though. Getting her her own rod & reel this week for sure.

picked this up for Sara

A good quality starter set up, minimum fuss and expense. If she really gets into it we can pass this on to Jack and she can get a higher-end rod.

Going to be a lot of jealous wives out there if they see that post!

Went up to a fly fish only pond tonight with my buddy Gene.
Fish rising everywhere! Could we catch any?
I managed a small bass, Gene hooked a nice 16.5 inch Rainbow.
It was pretty cool, the thing was patroling the surface looking like a shark
with its fins above the water. We both laid our flies out ahead of it but it took Genes.
2 nice jumps!
Was a good time!
