Nice 10-12" Brown this morning. Hooked one and got about 6' of
line in and lost it. 3 cast later I had this one at my feet. Cooper
Woolly Bugger. Met my buddy jean at the river, he fished the same hole yesterday and landed 5
the largest was 17". Water was up a foot from then and it's running about 3' higher than normal.

nice.

Jack is away with his grandparents so Sara and I are fishing all day tomorrow, rain or shine. :) :) Going to start over near Reading VT and work our way up that stretch of river, then eventually start working over towards Jamaica.

Water is scary high right now, don't fall in!

Since it was raining I decided to try the local stream.
First time out this year. It hasn't been stocked yet but
I did manage to land 2 Brookies. One was a 4" local and
the other was a 10" that was survivor from last years
stocking. I caught them in a pool that's a good 1/2 mile
from the nearest spot where they stock.
Dropped in to see Dr. Customwerxs after. He's got a couple of
cool projects going on right now. A stretched Zuke on Cruiser axles.
And a V8 40 that's getting a new engine/auto trans np203 and a cruiser t-case.
Must have a serious crawl ratio.

Can see Mayflies jumping on the hood of the 80. Should be out fishing.

Caught my first fish on the fly (streamer) last Saturday! Actually 2 brookies on the Black Branch of the Nulhegan. First was a little 5 incher and the mickey finn he hit barely fit in his mouth. 2 casts later caught a thick 8 incher.

I'm a novice and didn't get out much last year, but landed nothing on dries. Nice to have a little success with a streamer.

Sounds like a good start!

Caught my first fish on a dry....another brookie.

Did absolutely everything wrong, tied my knot wrong, left my extra tippet/leader at home so only had about 6 feet total, tripped and made a racket in the water, cast the fly onto the rock, got the fly line tangled on the same rock....but this little guy hooked himself anyway. Didn't even realize I had him on the line until he ran....thought the way my day was going I was caught on a log.

Talk about lucky.

Very nice! I love watching a fish come up and hit a dry fly!

I just picked up fly fishing this summer. My buddy and I spent the weekend up in Northern NH. We hit the Wildcat River where we caught a ton of small brookies on dry flies. We also hit up the Saco near N. Conway and managed to catch a few beautiful rainbows. The Saco got very frustrating because we had trout jumping all around us, but biting nothing until we figured out JUST the right fly...then it was game on...

I'm off to read about hatches now...

fun stuff!!!!

My buddy jean got these yesterday before work. 16" on the big one.
Leaving in a bit to fish the same pool.

Great pool! Hooked 6 and landed 5.
9-14" Browns and Brookies.
Used a 3 wt rod which added to the excitement!

More Brookies on nymphs this morning. Raining like crazy while I was out.
Lost my footing and fell into the stream, sucks getting old.
