I have cut an inch or so off the mount so that it did not go below the frame when I have installed this mount set up in other trucks before...no biggie.

Good luck!

Good to know. I'd like to bolt the mount on because of the clerance issue with the gas tank reliefe in the floor pan. Guess I'll drill a new hole to replace the bottom one, not nearly enough beef after I trim the mount to hold a bolt.

weld it , that is exactly where mine sits . you are keeping that s*** way to clean.
pig it up a little would ya.

You can't really see my welds in the pictures, can you say pig boogers? :D

I like my bird s*** welds. I did my SOA , SR , bumpers , skidplates and all with a 110 Century with 75/25 and everyone says oh my god what bird s*** on your weld . Not one has failed , aint purty but aint broke yet either. I burn em in until I see melt on both pieces and if not I'll grind em and reweld it . Not the prettiest but they hold.

The one that was installed in the Orange truck came with one...and that was purchased in early '04...

I would call Marlin and ask WTF...

I'm working my way up to bird crap welds. :grinpimp: :grinpimp:

I think what I will do is swap the upper and lower transmission mounts on both sides. The passenger side lower never see's any compression, neither does the drivers side upper. They aren't in that bad of shape. I'm not being cheap, they are special order through NAPA. I just don't want to wait.
The motor mounts were replaced last summer.
My worry is I will weld/bolt the new t-case mounts in place then when I replace the transmission mounts in a couple of years it will be a project to get everything to align.

I swaped the tranny mounts around so the ones that hadn't been in compression were supporting the weight. Made a little difference.

I pulled the drive train out again today

Got the AA shift linkage installed, at first I was a little disappointed with the instructions. The set that came with the orion were great, these were not nearly as detailed. Once I got into it I realized most of it is self expalitory.

The welding is looking better. I still have a little more to do but I finished the scab plates and the Drivers side mount. I drilled the passenger side for bolts, otherwise I would have to cut the mount to remove the drive train.

Don't mind if I do, .
Thanks, I'm really glad I broke down and got the AA twin stick as you suggested. My home brew approach was similar but not nearly as clean.
Wish I could say my welds look good. Although by the end of the day today they were looking almost like bird crap.

There is a HUGE contingency (myself included) that have bird**** welds that actually hold.

What welder you using?

Hard to believe I've been wheeling this set up for 6 years.

I'm really thinking about tearing the truck apart and putting it back together this winter. The worst thing about the way it is now is the AA "propeller". I'm pretty sure it is responsible for most of the leaks and seepage I see from the trans/toy box/Orion.

X 10. Had the same seepage, leaks on my rock box, Orion. Got fed up after 2 seasons and yanked them out. Ih8leaks !
