As long as I can use it with the upcoming disc brake front end by removing the residual valve, that's a good option. I'd love to keep this as simple and stock as possible, but I'd really only like to buy/replace the MC once. The one that is in there now (original '74 drum/drum MC/Booster) is shot—rusty, missing both reservoir caps and a crack in one reservoir. Not really worth messing with. An ideal solution would be a MC/Booster combo that will work both now and later.

Did you get this settled? About to do the same on my SA 73’ 43. Would like one cylinder I can use now with the 4 drums and then later use for 4 discs or disc/drums

I did resolve it, but I don't remember with what, exactly. Been a while. Pic below. I did end up removing the residual valve, but the rears locked up early and often, so I ordered the proportioning valve you can just make out under the MC from City Racer. Works great now. Still just disc brakes on the front after the 60-series knuckle swap with old 4Runner calipers and 60-series rotors. Kind of a bastardized front end, but it all plays nicely together.

FYI, I also had the original booster rebuilt by Booster Dewey here in Portland. Great job, and worth the shipping if you're not local. Told them what I was changing to and they just handled it. Quick turn-around and looks original.

Ah woah, totally different direction, but glad it worked out. Did you remove the res valve from that original cylinder or an 80 cyl before returning to the original? I was under the impression you always needed a res valve for drums.

Despite my bio, I’m in Portland most of the year for school. I’ll consider giving them a shout. Do you know LCNW? Epic shop.

Thanks for the response,

Sawyer
