Hi guys, a newbie here! I've been wanting a LC for a long time and just decided to get a 60 b/c I prefer stick so much.

Here is a copy I found on CL. I had some additional pics of the undercarriage from the seller and it looks rust free. (Will post them when I figure out how to). But it will need to be desmogged and AC is not working at this time. What kind of offer should I make? Your input will be greatly appreciated.

Hey @cohomology I've been looking for a 60 for the last few weeks. I'm about an hour and a half south of Atlanta, so I've seen this one on CL, but haven't been too interested in it. Not really sure what to think of it. Looks like someone's spent some time going through the interior. Seems like a good rig for the price if you like the look. Hard to say what I'd offer without seeing and driving it.

New paint always makes me nervous because I have seen a lot of vehicles that look good one day and a year or two later the bondo starts to fall out. Lesson being go look at it in person and be sure to look at the body thoroughly. Look for signs of waviness in body panels. Consider wrapping a magnet in some cloth and running it along the body...if it falls off anywhere you know you have lack of metal. Get underneath and inspect the chassis and floors. Look at the gas tank, inspect any lines you can see.

great advises guys!

For the price I can get a 100 (either LC or LX 470) with lower mileage which seems to be better value? I'm really torn...

@Seth S

I'm 5 hours away from this truck so I want to learn more before I go check it out. If the underneath is rust free, can I assume with more confidence that the body is not too bad?

It has huge potential but a couple things:
-It's not in Atlanta, GA it's in Dothan AL. He probably listed in under ATL to surf a bigger crowd.
-It' has a nice redone interior and new paint. Again, be weary of 60s with new paint. Check the 1/4 panels and rear tailgates carefully. No under carriage pictures, which probably means rust. I mean, the guy has 17 pictures including all angles of the leather seats but none of the underside, it could spell a possible problem.
-He says it came with tube bumpers but removed them and said he was going to ARB it, but then he states he has front and rear bumpers but the 17 pictures have it has bumperless. Huh. Probably just copied and pasted from the add he bought it from.
-Geez, 9.5k with no working AC. Who does that nowadays.

Just mai too sense..

I'd say hold off and keep looking. There are cleaner less molested ones out there for the same money or less.
