Given what you have seen is there a turbo solution for the B engine other than buying either a 3 BT or a 13 BT? While I am looking for a 13BT I would like to consider any reasonable alternative if possible.

You can turbo the "B" engine. The drawback on the "B" is that you do not have the piston skirt cooling that Toyota provided on the 3B. If you keep your boost and EGT's a little lower than us 3B types you should still be OK.

I am biased towards the CT-26 for the budget minded. The CT-26 mates up to the BT-13 manifold without adapter, easing the install process. Since the B and 3B engines are normally aspirated the power at low RPMs is normal and enhanced at higher RPMs with the addition of boost. The Supra CT-26 wastegate starts opening at around 8-10 psi stock and hight with shimming. My concern for the B engine is the lack of piston cooling, increasing power increases heat produced and how much is the million dollar question. My seat of the pants opinion would be, add the turbo and combust the existing fuel completely and take whatever power increase you get without increasing the fuel delivery. At a later date you can increase the fuel delivery after pyro and instrumentation additions. There are some on this forum who have no experience and claim to be experts on the subject of 3B turbocharging, and refuse to provide ANY proof or evidence of even owning a diesel, let alone a turbocharger. I will offer yo the same offer I have offered others come on out to the west coast and you can drive my cruiser on and off road. Will the other "expert" offer the same?
