Opinions: Code 52, 71 are they incompatible with a road trip? (1 Viewer)

Yup. Those are the reasons for my check engine light. Normally, I do not like going on a long trip out to the boonies with known problems but I am running out of time. Leave for Big Bend in 8 days. I also would rather several days of driving on repairs to assure I didn't mess something up. I did complete the egr test plug fix but code seems to be staying on. I will try a reset this weekend, again. But if I can't resolve this issue, am I good to go anyway? My gut says yes but I just want to make sure that is the case.
 
If the knock sensor is bad the truck would go into a limp mode of sorts, ecu in open loop. Gas mileage will suck and power will go down because ecu will pull timing. I would drive to work for the week and fix on the weekend, but I would not take a long road trip.
 
Dang it. I think I knew that but was blocking that reality. Hopefully I can get a sensor in time.
 
There are but thankfully it is the front one.
