I am debating whether or not to jettison my factory running boards from my 80. If I do, I would like to either put those tube steps at each door, or full length tube steps, or none at all. I don't have a lift yet, and the tires are plus sized K02s and it's not much of a stretch to climb in.

Oh, and where does one get rid of them in CLT? I am doubtful anyone would want them, but an extra buck can't hurt for more good beer!!

if you do any offroading, sliders or some sort of rocker protection is a must.

Put them on Craigslist.


If you are going to wheel without a lift. Sliders are a must. In fact I'd put sliders at the top of my list for mods.

Make or buy some rock sliders if you go offroad. The rock sliders act as a running board but they are much stronger. Check out @SeanLX "running boards" at Logan's Run assuming you and @SeanLX are going.
