After seeing Dan’s LED light mod for the glove box I wasted no time ordering the parts.
I knew my bride would approve of this mod since it’s on here side… I now know why it was so dark in there. No power to the tiny bulb.:hmm: All my other courtesy lights work and I visually checked the fuses in the engine bay and DS kick panel.
Does anyone know what fuse that socket is on? Or what could cause no power to the socket?
Thanks
Ken

^ FWIW I had the same problem. And after spending several hours trying to trace the wire back to figure out why no juice, including using the EWD for same, I gave up and just tapped into another hot wire...works.

This worked out great. You can actually see what's in the glove box now.

Thanks Dan

Great to hear you like it! Silly little thing...until you need it ;)

^...I just checked the owner's manual and you're right: The glove box light/circuit is only powered when the "dash lights are on". But now, with a 12v bypass from the headlight circuit, I've got a glove box light that is much more useful to me...and plenty of illumination too.

What mod is this you speak of?

Putting an LED strip up under the glove box so you have awesome light. I wired it with a bypass hot wire since I did not know how the circuit was wired. Most of the time I need it when the cruisers off anyway.
If you do not want to bypass the hot wire I guess it will only work with heads lights on and glove box open.
Then it's a plug and play.

My adhesive has let me down. I need to re-glue it back in place but it's a mod worth doing if you keep stuff in there that you need from time to time.

Ah thank you! Is there a certain strip that works well? I was going to look for an LED replacement of the stock bulb, but did not see it listed on the @pfran42 website.

spressomon had a nice write up, I believe with part numbers but I do not have a link.
Maybe check out his ROTM it might be in there. I did it around June 2014 look around the post in that time frame.
Good Luck!
