One positive of the ARBs are their 100% duty cycle I believe. Can make a difference sometimes. I’ve always used a cheap viair pump and never had an issue, but now with 35s I was leveling up all my tires because it had been a while, and only needing 2-5psi per tire and I didn’t like how long it took, I was imagining trying to go up from a lower offroad psi like 12.. and now I think it’s time to upgrade to a twin..

My Smittybilt can usually get to 4-6 tires before the thermal switch kicks it off to cool down. It usually takes around 5 minutes before it cools down enough to kick back on. If you are airing up multiple rigs routinely, ARB is the way to go for the better duty cycle for sure.

That's one thing I like about the compressor in a tool box I didn't think of when I bought it, it provides a protective standoff from the compressor when you pack it back up cause that think gets hot AF!.

Yep, it's their mid grade compressor, single cylinder high output. Important to keep in mind for where you mount it. Which is why I brought it up.
 
These seems to be the quickest/cheapest option, with some built in redundancy even.
But... is it easier? How many times will you do that and then say, "I'm done with this... There's gotta be a better way."
The rational to the two pumps includes the fact that the pump inflates faster when the tire is at lower pressure....it can move more air per cycle....so might as well pump up two tires at once.
Exactly why I built that 4 tire inflation system for all 4 of them to inflate/deflate at once! I definitely fill my tires faster with all 4 of them going at the same time than just airing one up at a time. All that CFM that that ARB is pushing is being used, not just being chocked off into one tire.
Also, it ensures that ALL the tires (assuming no leaks) have the same pressure.
And almost forgot about the 100% duty cycle of ARB's.

So I just installed the OVS Up/Down Air EGOI2 air compressor in our GX... it's their answer to the ARB Twin, same specs, longer warranty, appears to be the same components. Just put a video comparing the two... will continue to run/abuse it to see how it performs, but so far so good. Just another one to consider for a permanent mount solution, $150-$200 less than ARB

So I just installed the OVS Up/Down Air EGOI2 air compressor in our GX... it's their answer to the ARB Twin, same specs, longer warranty, appears to be the same components. Just put a video comparing the two... will continue to run/abuse it to see how it performs, but so far so good. Just another one to consider for a permanent mount solution, $150-$200 less than ARB

Looks to be a good option - I may upgrade when my Smittybilt eventually craps out.

What is the duty cycle on these compressors? The ARB twin has a 100% duty cycle. Last time I used my Smittybilt it made it to 7 tires before kicking off due to heat and needing a 10-15 minute cool-down.

good question, will ask my rep at OVS and report back. Also I plan on airing up multiple vehicles after the next club run...

Thanks.....would be great if this compressor could air up 8-12 tires without stopping.
 
I have a older/smaller viair that takes a while to fill up (17 - 35 psi in 4-5 min), looking to upgrade eventually but it gets the job done and fits under the hood - I’m running 32’s

Took long enough for somebody to come up with a worthy option!!!
The ARB Twin has been around for what... 20 years?
Even if they were waiting for the patent to expire, U.S. patents are usually good for only 15 to 17 years.

Those big twins are sure nice. I'm just airing up so went with the single plus that's all I could fit passenger side engine bay.
