I sent him a question asking why he says the MSRP is $5100 more than actual MSRP for all the packages/options.

EDIT: I recalculated the cost below, the above is incorrect

This is my local dealer. They called me with this MSRP since I am interested in buying a FJ Cruiser, I then sent an email with the same question about why it is higher than it should be and they ignored me. Guess I will not be buying my FJ from them. This is the same dealer that told me they were not capable of working on my FJ40, even thought I have the factory service manuals. Good luck bidding :)

Here is a price breakdown based on my rough gorilla math

Base: $23,300
Conv Pkg: $1,840
Side Air Bags: $650 (ish)
UR (UP2): $2,640

MSRP: $28,430

Accessories:

TRD Exhaust: $550
16" TRD Wheels w/ BFGs $1,899

Dest Fee: (if not already included) $600

Total MSRP: $31,479

Asking price: $33,373

Unexplainable diff: $1,894

Getting screwed just to be the first on the block: Priceless

(ok, a little cheesy ;) )

Here is a better price list that I came up with, all the prices are MSRP/consumer price:
$23300 FJ Cruiser
$1840 CQ (convenience package)
$2620 UR (Upgrade Package w/subwoofer)
$1899 PPO 16 inch tire/wheel combo
$550 PPO TRD cat-back exhaust (or $499+ 0.4 hr labor, if dlr opt instead of PPO)
$345 RB (running boards)
$650 GY (side airbags)
$605 Destination charge

$31,809 total.
Ebay ad states MSRP is $33,373
Where is the $1564 difference in MSRP?

Woops, didn't see the running boards.

Recieved a reply from the seller, the FJC includes these as well:

$432 Z2 PPO Package (All weather floor mats, All weather cargo mat, rear door storage, first aid kit, passenger side rmrest
$1167 C7 PPO Convenience Package (Roof Rack, Tow Hitch, Spare Tire Cover)

For a grand total of $33,408. So actually it is a deal at $35 off full MSRP  :zilla:

Yowwserrr........Looks like getin in the front door on these is going to hurt...I hope Toyota is including condums with these first run units....Suieeeeee...

All of those accessories isn't Toyota's doing, you have the dealers to thank for that. Contrary to what some dealers may say they have the power to add/remove any accessories on the truck prior to it hitting port. If you're with a good dealer they will spec it just how you want it.

That being said, the initial builds are mostly fully optioned. There are some base models out there, they are just harder to find. Again, it is on the dealer's shoulders to get it done.

if they have switched to the trd rims you should still get the factory alloys as take offs. also, last i checked you can get 5 of the trd 16" rims at trdsource for $550.

a washington dealer i called to compare to canuck pricing gave me $25,200 as the cheapest possible version that could be ordered. point blank refused to quote a base model without convenience pckges even as a special order because he said you can't get'em without the pckge. also was very reluctant quoting on a manual.

$1899 is the port option price for the wheels/tires, so you don't keep the takeoffs, you are much better off buying the vehicle without them and then buying the TRD wheels and tires seperately, at least you get to keep the originals then.

It was bound to happen sooner rather than later.
