Finally got my OME T-Bars and Slee Diff Drop on. And a TJM RB8 rear bumper too. I'll post some pix as soon as I get home.

Anyhow, man the ride is real harsh now. I feel every ripple in the road and it just hits real hard.

Anybody else have this problem?

I expected it to tighten up a little, but this feels slightly destructive.

Mine firmed up a bit after the install (originally with OME T-bars and 865's in the rear) but not what I would label as harsh or jarring. However after using my LC off-road in mud, snow, etc. the OME shocks now don't seem as 'fluid' as they were last summer...maybe it's my imagination.

Mac...do you have your T-bars adjusted so that the front is approximately 1" lower (or "raked") than the rear? If not you might want to adjust it this way so more weight is transferred, effectively, to the front...

I noticed they were quite harsh when I had them cranked up too high, But they feel pretty good now that my ARB bar is up front and the height is properly adjusted.

I also agree with Spress..The OME shocks seem a bit firmer after 20,000 mi or so..not as smooth and cushy as when they were first installed .

I'm not raked at all. It's dead horizontal right now.

Will drop the front an inch and see how that feels.

My OME shocks only have about 12K on them now.

Thanks!

Mac, What springs are you using on the rear?

865s.

Point of reference, I measure 13 1/8th to 13 1/4 inches between the top of my 16" wheel and the bottom edge of the fender on the front suspension. Try measuring yours to see if its around there too. The ride is definitely firmer than stock but not at all harsh.

Will do. Headed out to get the truck this afternoon.

Shouldn't matter that you're running 315s and I have 305s right?

I'm running 295's, not 315's. And besides, measuring from the top of the wheel takes the tire size out of play as long as we both have 16" wheels.

Perhaps we should start measuring from the fender lip to the top of the wheel hub. Eliminates differences between different sized wheels, alloys and steelies.

Well after putting about 500 miles on it this weekend, it's "settled," but still harsh on the pot holes and such. I measured the distance and I got 14 5/8 from rim to wheel well top center. Way too high and now the CV joint boots are spitting a lot of grease.

Will drop it down an inch or so this week and look into getting those joint boot clips Hoser mentioned.

14 5/8"? WOW! Yes.....drop that 1.25" for safety's sake my friend!

And even if you drop 1.25" you must diff-drop at that height. I am at 13.25" if I remember right.

measure from hub center to fender, for crying out loud...!
none of this tire in the equation thing...
:)

get rid of those bling 18's and you won't have any problems with our measurements... :flipoff2:

Or simply subtract one inch from your measurement and you'll be at the same measurement we are.

So did you drop it and has the ride improved? I need to make sure the ride is not harsh at all before I get my lift. The roads in my area are bad...
