I definitaley need new shocks on my 97 cruiser. I have looked at going with the OME shocks, the only problem is that I want to lift my cruiser within the next few months as well. Are the shocks for the lifted cruiser the same as the ones for the 50mm lift? I dont want to order the lift shocks and mess them up by driving them around on an unlifted cruiser but I dont want to buy non lift shocks and then have to replace them when I do the lift. I know the ideal situation would be to buy the complete lift now but its christmas time and $$$ are shorter than normal.

thats what i have been looking at....all the OME shocks have the same part number..... but are they the same length or do they offer different lengths with the same part number

OME shocks work with stock and 50 mm lift even 80mm front lift that is the beauty of OMEs shocks not only are they good they designed it with the consumer in mind.

The fact that they are the same part number means they are the same shock. If there were different variations of the same part, then they would dash numbers like N73-01 & N73-02. Typically they just use different part numbers. As stated above, Christo is a godd source of info and a great person to buy from.

have had OME shocks on moms 97 fzj sense 1997 and its stock. these are normal OME not L's

also I run OME on my stock fj62, stock fj40, stock fj45LV, actaully ALL my cruisers have had OME put on when still stock, when lifted I used the same shocks.

So yes as long as your not going to run J springs(which need L shocks) then you can use the same OME shocks with your stock suspension and when lifted.
