Hey y'all. I hate I missed the HAMON this past weekend, looked like a good time. I'm very close to ordering an OME lift for my 62 and wanted a little imput. I was planning on ordering the light/medium but was wondering if the Heavy made that big of a difference in the ride? I don't have plans for a winch or heavy front bumper right now, but you never know. Any imput would be appreciated. Thanks.

Dont get the light mediums. Or at least not the lights, they wont hold up (lift will sag) and if you ever add anything like a winch or bumpers it cant handle the weight.

Just get the regular heavys. And there is a chance I may have my lift from y 62 for sale, and tatortot has some rear OME springs for sale as well.

I got the ultra heavies and they ride great. A thousand times better than the stock set up. Only reason i got the ultra heavies and not the regular heavies is that i wanted that extra inch and i'll weight it down in the future. When i went to buy mine, i orginally wanted to get a good used set of spring bc it's cheaper, from what 89'srule is saying, his alcan's might be for sale soon. I've only heard good things about them. I got mine from 4wheelparts in charlotte. Ask for Kyle.

See everyone in a few months at Over the Mountain!

Thanks, I think I'll go w/ the heavy. Who else sells OME in the upstate area?

I ordered a good bit of stuff when I did my axle s and gears from cruiseroutfitters Avoid JT in NC from everything I have heard. I would check around and get some shipped to you.

Have you ridden in a a 62 with OME? That might be a good idea b/f you order anything.

Ok, I ordered the OME Heavy. I'm planning on installing myself and the only question I can think of is, will I need a leaf spring stretcher to install?

no:beer::beer:

Post up when you want to do it and try to give us anough lead time so at least some of us can come lend a hand. Trying to do it by yourself will take a lot more time.

Well, after all the T-case issues (I'm still waiting on 1 part) and waiting over a month for my OME to come in, I cancelled the OME a couple of weeks ago. As luck would have it, FedEx dropped off a OME Heavy to my office this week, I was refunded but the order was never cancelled! For what it's worth, the supplier is going to let me have the OME w/o shipping. Not a bad way to save a little $. So, looks like I'll end up with a new lift after all.

Well, I finally did it. I took the day off and with the help of my father-in-law, I got the OME Heavy lift installed. Everything broke down smoothly. No need to burn the bushings as the pins pounded out very easily w/ a 4lb. hammer. Took a litte over 4hrs. I ended up w/ 2.5-3 1/4 inch lift all around. The Cruiser really looks nice. I was a little worried as ARB sent A's for both rears, but it worked on mine and the rake looks perfect. I'll post some pics tomorrow (Alex, you'll want it back). See y'all this wknd.

So where are the pics?

Looking forward to seeing it at the annual.

Ok Marshall, here are a couple of b4 and after pics...not the best pics as the lift looks more impressive in person. As far as everything working out with 2 rear A's, I might have a little DS lean. We'll see how it settles. ARB seems pretty good w/ making it right and said they'd send whatever needed to make it level. Either way, I LIKE IT! Sliders/locker soon to follow!
