OME Post-Install Problem (1 Viewer)

I guess one question should be are there any OME installs without the extras and if so, how's the alignment? I'm scheduled for just such an install this Friday. Don't need all the extras as I don't drive tough trails but do towe on a regular basis. I'm becoming quite hesitant now.

On the LCcool website there are many installs without the Chaos arms and I have not heard of any issues like being described here.

Thanks, I'll check that site. Do you happen to know if they are 200 series with KDSS?

Yup... FYI the KDSS system is standard on ALL LC's. Even if it is a basic model in another country.

Didn't know that, thanks. Waiting on forum approval. Makes me feel a bit better going into the install. Looking forward to night driving again while towing.:steer:

just got off the phone with Total Chaos.

they say that the only thing there upper control arms change is the caster. they add 3* of caster.

talking to the guy about this situation, he said that installing the arms makes the front end easier to adjust(don't have to max anything, closer to factory)

i would like to ask a few of you guys with the lifts, to take a pic of the lower control arm pivot bolts(camber/caster adjustment)

i am interested in seeing how they are adjusted, just out of curiosity.

Well that would make sense and then solve your issue.

Why it is happening to you and not the people on LCCool I don't know. Maybe it is and they are not reporting it, which is possible.

I will try and take pictures later. Maybe Chimyz will get to it before me.

i can say we didn't have this problem on the first 200 we did.

we put the icon coilovers, and the TC upper control arms on it.

the only thing i see that would or will make a difference is the upper control arms.

I can not see OME putting out a kit that maxed out any adjustments. Very strange.

Are you sure? Reading over a number of the posts on Lcool.org, a lot of the guys that bought the lesser version didn't get the KDSS...something like VX model vs. the Sahara model. I think one is without leather, nav, third row, sunroof, KDSS and the other is like our gas upgrade models, but with a diesel.
I could be wrong though?

I agree...

I am almost sure :D

Well, spoke with installer regarding this thread and he's been in contact with ARB. They were only concerned about the KDSS in that steps need to be followed for trouble free installation. I'm set to have it done Thursday and will report results.

Yes, let us know! I'm holding off until I know for sure.

Also, are you POSITIVE you used the correct springs? Did you have a bumper installed? Check which spring part numbers you used. If you accidentally used the one for the 220lb bumper, you would be too high and that could be the problem....just a hunch.

Can you post which spring numbers you used? Maybe ARB sent the wrong ones by mistake...

Here is what I ordered. I do not have the bumber installed but want to in the future. Do you think that the 703 front springs are causing the problem and that I need to move down to the 702s to fix this? Wouldn't ARB call that out if that was the case?

Front Medium 2” lift
Spring: OME703
Shock: N208S

Rear Medium .75” Lift
Spring: OME722
Shock: N209

I don't have the part numbers with me, they are in my shop. The ARB rep asked if I had a bumper and I said no. He asked if I do any towing and I said yes. We opted for medium duty all around with 4XXlb constant load in the rear. He gave me the part numbers and I forwarded them to the installer, who confirmed. As soon as I get the part numbers, I'll post.

I'm really excited about the install and hoping all goes well.

The front springs shouldn't effect the wheels in that way...they are not any taller, just stiffer.

I would have to check the 200 when we get it back, but I know we did not have alignment issues. If you used the incorrect springs, you can indeed have to much lift causing you to not get back to alignment specs.

Can you take a picture from the side? Do you have pre and post measurements?

Slee, I can take pre and post pics but as for measurements, from what point to point?

Slee - Would you recommend swapping out the 703 springs for the 702 springs (less stiff) until I install the bumber? Would you also recommend installing the TC UCAs at the same time or would that be unneccessary? Thanks.
