My 99 currently has the following (I'm estimating about ~400 lbs loaded):
  • Slee rear tire carrier single swing out
  • Hi-Lift jack 60"
  • 34" Spare tire
  • Roof rack (often loaded with 40# of camping gear)
  • Subwoofer
  • Engle MT-45 Freezer
I plan on adding in the next 3 months (another +/-180#):
  • Full drawer setup in the rear
  • Tools
  • Recovery gear
I'm trying to decide between Slee Heavies, OME 863's or 864's... I have the standard OME 2.5" lift kit otherwise with Slee diff drop for the 100 series.

Please advise. Thanks!

i have similar setup to you with sleep rear bumper, drawers, sub and gear. When I initially installed the rear bumper I went with slee heavies, but the rear of the truck was still notwhere I wanted it. It sat lower than the front. So I added 1" spacers and that got me level. I hear the 864's are stiffer and handle weight better, however, I ended up installing some air bags in the rear for when I am really loaded down on a ski or camping trip. At $80-90 air bags is a worthy upgrade that will help with handling when really loaded.

Thank you @DJCloz I appreciate it. From my initial research I should gain about 3" of lift from the 864's?

I've run all of the OME rear springs - if you hit my build link you can see all of the "stuff" I roll with.

2864 would be your minimum once you have the drawers and gear. I run 2868 these days. The empty stance is ass high but loaded to go i have nominal rake. The '868 gives a lot of weight tolerance, esp off road.

Thanks @RobRed I just looked at the thread. Man, you're ready for most any event. I really like your approach to the build. I appreciate it.
