Hey, can that custom Ecu be made to work with the 4or 5 cylinder engine type of 613 like the 612 or 611
Negative, the 611 and 612s have their own ECUs but the price is pretty much the same and 611/612 waaaay easier to work with :) in terms of immonilizer, preheater and etc. Just PM if you need details.

Finally the engine is in the engine bay. The adapter kit worked fine - it just connected as it was Toyota's stock 4.5 engine.

There are some issues with boost controller fitment as well as AC compressor and alternator. We would like to hook up the alternator and leave AC for later on. Soon will be a vid with running TLC 80 with OM 613 :) I think we will have to make custom brackets for AC and alternator and relocate them to the top of the engine.

Before we drop it in to the engine bay :)
Sockets from the engine connects to the ECU, then from ECU runs wires for:

Constant positive
Constant negative
Ignition on
Ignition start
Block heater actuator start - via ignition start
Tachometer signal
Alternator charging signal to the bulb

Engine to ECU:
Main sockets
Air mass sensor
EGR - we left that wire just in case, the EGR is switched off in software
Block heater
Turbo controller
Throttle position sensor
Alternator

These are separate connections. In main sockets ECU receives all vital data for it's function.

That is great work going on there, is that the factory Ecu, how did you deal with the Issue of the canbus key connected to the original body which the engine came from ?

Just a housing left from original ECU, most of it is resoldered and there is no more CAN-bus :)

How i wish am able to do a fraction of what you are doing, I have an om 611 together with its computer which was brought from Nederland here in Kenya but i dont know what to do to make run independent of the car it came from, if there is any advice or help send it to my email njathak@gmail.com

Managed to fit the alternator and boost controller on the right side, so progressing slowly. Pics will be later on.

Sent you an e-mail, but I can tell right now. I need the year, model and serial number of the ECU as well as the engine details.

In addition, Kariba, 611 is 2.2l 4 banger I would not reccomend to stick it into a heavy offroad vehicle. It is not bad engine and very durable - but has only around of 100HP and 220 to 300NMs depending on model. If you constantly will keep the engine overloaded it is prone to snap the crankshaft. If I would have a 611 and option to put it into a offroader I would be looking something light as Suzuki Jimny or Daihatsu Roki type vehicles.

The om 611 and 612 i have found some here in Kenya, i would like to put the, 611 in an old salon car as i continue to look for the 613. I dont know what is your take on om 612 as there is one from ml 270 cdi automatic.

The problem is the ECU we need to know the serial number, auto or manual it does not really matter.

Hey, Tugarin i have found a 613 but the only problem the owner sold the Engine Ecu, do you have a spare one which i could use?

Sorry for delays, making new air intake, water connection to the existing Toyota system, marring the brakes, PS and etc turned out to be more PITA than dropping the engine in. Slowly progressing :)
