I didnt know that the old toyota factory that is pictured from 1958 is still in use as a museum...and is now the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry.

Toyota made a few different things back in the early years...here are some Toyota ( Toyoda Automatic Loom Works ) bayonettes...you can tell a toyoda bayonette by the logo on the left...needles around a bobbin...the other emblem on the right is Nagoya Arsenal...the first pic is an early example...you can tell by the detailed emblem...later stamps were crude like the bottom pic.

hope you dont mind me posting these here...i am getting rid of most of my Chit-Chat threads and thought these would fit here :)

I think there may be some confusion here...

TOP PHOTO - This picture is actually the Koromo Plant (Today's current Honsha Plant). Started operations 1938

BOTTOM PHOTO - The Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology is on the site of the Honsha Plant of Toyoda Spinning & Weaving. First built in 1911. As pictured in the 1940's

They are two different places.

The present Honsha plant, where you can take a tour is located in Toyota-chi (Toyota City) across the street from Toyota HQ. MAP

The Commemorative Museum is located in Nagoya

Hope that helps...

Great stuff!

Is that a ballpark in the bottom right hand corner?

It almost looks like it, but if you look at the scale it's pretty big. At first I thought it might have been a test track (today there is a large test track that wouyld be located just off image to the right), but I'm not so sure now. Maybe it was an athletic field or possibly a holding pond? Maybe I can find out more on my next trip :p
