I visited the Commemorative Museum during my first trip to Japan in 2005. I didn't do a good job of documenting things, but, I do have a few pictures...

The museum is broken up into two major sections, the first is dedicated to Textile Machinery, the second is the Automobile Pavilion. The photos below are from the AUtomobile Pavilion.

Here you see the Promenade of Representative Models, of which can be seen, from left to right: Toyota Truck Type G1, ToyoAce SKB and a 1955 Toyopet Crown. In the background can be seen some of the many working assembly line machine displays.

This sequence of photos shows the production of the Model AA.
As far as I know and have read, NO surviving examples of the Model AA existed, so all the cars we see today are reproductions buit from the original blueprints.

Lastly is a book published in 1995, in English.
The museum opened June 11 1994 on the 100th anniversary of Kiichiro Toyoda's birthday.

I highly recommend that anyone interested in Toyota visit this museum when in Japan!

nice picture i really like this one of Taiichi Ohno.

He was the Father of TPS (Toyota Production System) also helped in the creation of the "Just-in-Time" method.

I usually just see the head shot of him....but....this one is a full photo ....NICE hat

Not sure if my pics fit this bill, but I'll post them up. These were taken last April when CDan and I went to visit Mot in Japan and do a birfield job on his rig. I think CDan and I have Robbie beat in terms of the distance traveled to wrench on a cruiser.

Oh yeah, we also got to go to the Toyota Auto Body Yoshiwara Plant (formerly Arakawa Auto Body/Araco).

I can't believe these pics! I'm right in this area. My wife is super prego- so were a her parents house- in Tahara. I drove past that highway sign yesterday. The Toyota Auto Museum in Nagakute was on my everyday route to work when we lived in Aichi. I'm dying to get a tour of the plant but I have yet to find out about it. The auto museum is great!
