So, probably 15-20 years ago, I answered a Craiglist ad, bought this F engine trans and transfer case...been stored since.
Had to move it, decided to check it out.
I keep an FJ62 starter, and this Crane Fireball ignition system handy, just for this purpose.
Runs good, very little smoke.
Has a generator, so it's an oldie.
Big window carb is worth more than I gave for everything.....
Anyone have a guess at year?

I have a 1965 FJ45 original and the engine has an "oil bath" air cleaner. I believe shortly after this they went to a filter air cleaner. So, perhaps yours is a 1966/1967 ?

This is an oil bath, date code on carb is 1964

Sorry, looked like a newer housing at first. Then it probably is 1964/1965. What is the future of this engine ?
Not sure yet, it would be correct in my FJ45 SWB....but I've already swapped it to a 2F/4 spd, front discs....
I would sell to someone with a truck it would be correct in....

Any range of price to the right person.

To a fellow Land Cruiser enthusiast $1500, which is what a good big window SD40 will bring. The gear reduction starter or my Fireball ignition don’t go.
the OEM distributor starter and coil go with.

The motor (not original) in my early ‘63 FJ45L-P SWB fixed top is 193342 with a date stamp of 40201 (Feb 1, 1964) so this motor is a little later, maybe mid-‘64. There is a date stamp code on the driver‘s side of block toward the front. PCV points to US market in this timeframe. What should be in my rig (per VIN plate) is 175782. A fantasy to find it. If I was local, I’d probably pick this up even though already have two SD40’s from Mark @cppilot (sans blue plates though 😆). I like the running aspect! Do you also have the VR that works with the early generators?

everything that came with this motor is here, no VR.
There may be a VR on my FJ45 PU, or my 64 FST yard art…..
