Okay the front Bumper cover is made out of cheese, but I don't want a dark vader

There was an OE aluminum bullbar offered in Australia. You can find them all day long on eBay as many upgrade to heavier duty units. If you know anybody out there that will ship you one. Just make sure it is the IFS version...

That looks to have all the strength of the OEM plastic bumper with none of the flex/compliance and low-speed impact resistance. What's the purpose? The grille/headlight bar would fold up like... well, like a grille/headlight bar bolted to 3/16" aluminum plate.

Actually I want to go the other way, the less menacing the better..

I just need some thing really stiff/Rigid even sacrificial/disposable after a impact, that will not take half the body work with it if gets bend, is just silly that the metal bumper ends one foot before the corner..

I'm sure they have a reason for it, the Toyota guys are not stupid, but it just don't work for my needs..

As others mentioned it doesn't get better than the dissent bumper. As for why the Stock bumper is so fragile it's for safety reasons. All modern cars are that way, because in the case of a front collision they are trying to protect the driver/passengers, not the cars body. The more the front end crumples on impact, the less of that impact is transferred to the passengers.

as i was scrolling all i could think was @Manhattan 's setup of the dissent to suit your desire. Ben is awesome to work with, and if you ever decided you wanted to add a bar or full wrap around (see my avatar) it's a simple bolt on.

looks like you have the same color scheme as me. i have a powder coat color code that is a 99% match to the bumper color if you want to retain stock two tone color scheme but for some reason it isn't letting me upload the image right now.
Perfecto...

I can see yours in the avatar, yes color matching will be great for this application (i'm not into "goldy stuff at all, but in this case it looks very good)..

I just need to sell some stuff so I can order one..

Shame they are not more DIY available I'm a pretty decent MIG welder (certified the whole thing) but I also understand his point about the pride of his name in every piece..

Ps: the rear bumper is even better looking than the front, Ben has great eye for proportion..

Those he ever do "Group Buys"...?? I did not purchase a old 100 because I'm made of money that is for sure..

Ben at Dissent Offroad builds some amazing stuff. A simple - no hoop - bumper, powdered to match (OE bumper color and black) ties the bumper in pretty well. Doesn't look stock. But doesn't look like "Dark Vader" (not sure what that is ;) ) either.

I like this one with the wheels! Where did you get the wheels and how much for the bumper?

don't think @benc will be doing group buys - his quality is top notch and builds each one to each customer's specification.

You're not alone... that's why folks are practically giving them away. With the upper hoops cut-off and the rest powder coated, it does look the closest to stock.

Thanks @SWUtah. The wheels are Toyota Tundra base wheels. Since I'm in the S.E., and those where not used in the S.E. (they used the other steel wheels - the 5-point star), I found a vender in TX via Ebay. It's been a couple years... can't remember the company or find a receipt. The bumper was in the $1,100 range. Then ACC Garage did the Evo Gray and Black powder. ACC also powder coated the wheels.

Oh totally get that, but why the corner need to be so flimsy..

On the other hand this ARB type bumpers don't pay much attention for the safety of others, specially pedestrian, bicyclist, they are so sharp and rigid is like have a guillotine for a bumper..

his bumpers are built to order, so i'm going to guess no chance on group buy. they're worth every penny of the cost and wait though.

i don't know what's going on with the image uploading/linking/media, but this should work...

1) I'd suggest that any pedestrian or bicyclist involved in an accident with a 5500lb vehicle is going to be on the losing end, regardless of what bumper is mounted on the front.

2) The ARB style bumpers do offer significant protection from wildlife hits, which can be a significant problem in some areas. We don't have much of an issue with kangaroos where I live, but whitetail deer are an issue. I don't know how you could design a pedestrian/bicyclist friendly bullbar that wouldn't send a deer right into the grill, across the hood and through the windshield.

the idea of approaching a bumper for a vehicle this large as pedestrian/bicycle friendly is cracking me up. the dissent has wings that extend out about an inch or so on the sides. this is to protect the VEHICLE. if pedestrians are your concern, stick with the stock Tupperware that will break before they do.

Yeah I'm a little strange but I was a "car conscientious objector" until we had kids 5 years ago and will not be able to carry them on a motorcycle/bicycle in the snow (not like my wife will let me take them on my motorcycle anyway..

I was a skateboarder first, very active bicyclist for 25years with tons of commuting/touring (In Colombia where the national sport is to hit people on non motorized vehicles) and then a motorcycles because the distances were to far (In San Francisco is pointless to have a car, a bike is perfect and lane splitting is really fan), but I do think driving a car is a massive responsibility and I'm scared sh^tless of hurting someone..

Yeah I'm a walking conundrum driving such big car..

Okay, I get it, Please stop showing me pictures..

Romen taste great but my kiddos need a multi source of nutrients..:-)

use your new bumper to hit wildlife around Utah and put some meat on the table.

What can I say in about 400.000 miles of motorcycle riding in the last 20 years in the US, I almost hit a deer and that is it, well and a bee that snick into my helmet and goggles (I did not have them on at that very moment, much to dusty), what was very bad..

I'm not really into money, but I found ways to travel a lot, thanks to a network of friends, cheap pass date MRE's, clifbars and building bicycles under the table in shops all over the continent, wow I found so many cool places and meet so many cool people that way, the only problem is I never (seldom or get there late) get where I'm going, but who really cares..
