I got tired of everyone ripping me about trying to squeeze my camper in between the trees...so I got one of these.

Like the one I am trying to talk my wife in to taking on her birthday...what town was that again...Royston?

Hey Dave, it's going to be hard to wheel like that isn't it?? LOL

That is pretty dag gun sporty.

Great looking tent there david!! If you don't mind me asking what brand is it and how much did it set you back? I am in the market for one myself

JP

Don't mind at all, JP.
This is the Roof-top-Tent from racktents.com and cost half as much as the competitors. I was sold on the TechniTop which has a hard outer shell when closed. However, the drawback was, only one dealer in the US (no competition to price shop). I also read a few threads about repair issues and getting replacement parts that were discouraging.

Racktents.com had a side-by-side comparison with Ezi-Awn and beat them hands down. Ezi-Awn seemed to be the standard but also cost twice as much as this one.

Mine was $825 plus $100 for a new fabric upgrade which is more practical for our climate. I also got the change/shower enclosure.

I sent them an email with a few questions and Todd called me within the hour answering all of them and upgraded the fabric. The "other guy" told me to "go to their website" rather than talk to me on the phone. Also, at that price, the tent fabric could be replaced 5 times and still cost less than competitors.

We will see how this holds up. So far, I am very impressed.

I was thinking of putting tires on the bottom rung but I still might have trouble getting past that dang tree on Daniel. You know the one.:whoops:

very cool tent... how much does it weight, how much rd noise, and does it make the truck top heavy..?

Man, that's SWEET. I could of used one of those a few years back at Spivey Cove when THE
BEAR wanted to party with everybody. Very cool tent set up. Kudos.
I like the way it gives you a shade spot for chairs too. Dang sweet!

I planned on mounting it off the back but the two load bars have to be cut so I will run it this way for a while. The rear door will not open all they way so it may not be worth the trouble.

Have not gone far yet, I am hoping the air foil on the Bajarack will help. It is 120lbs, top heavy will be something to look for, of course the FJC is wider than most, maybe it will compensate.

The character adder tree.

Cool tent. Keep downsizing and by next winter you'll be camping in a bivvy sack.

You won't be tainting my mobile domicile!!
I will have it in Myrtle Beach for a look-see.

Looks sweet! Should be easier to get that across trail 1 when going to McNabb.

More details on the "tent ready" Baja Rack too please.

Guess I left that detail out. It was "butt cold" when we put this on so no pictures were taken. Simple to install, all factory bolts lined up with Baja.

I chose the Baja over ARB because it was lighter, less expensive, but just as strong. It came in three sections from Genuine Toyota Parts and Accessories wholesale to the public.. It is about five inches shorter though. Baja also had lower clearance and seemed to fit the FJC look better.
