Well, don't let 'em fool ya. Those "burst proof" oil lines I installed about 15 or 20 years ago
burst today. Guess all those years hanging out next to a header took it's toll.
They didn't make SS ones way back then. What a stinking smoking mess. It looked
like someone hit an artery the way Ol Gundy at 60psi was pumping oil on the header.
Oh well, they NOW make those boys in SS so maybe the new ones I ordered from $OR (ouch)
will last more than a couple of decades. :grinpimp:
They let go coming up the hill home. Glad I wasn't out on the Road to Murphy tonight. ;)
I made it safely up the drive and parked the ol boy. Dang...from the oil trail you'd think
it was a little British car. ;)

I got that same smoke screen a few years ago with my stockers. I ended up cutting up some hose from an oil cooler, sawing off the banjo fitting, and hose clamping the sucker to the sawed-off banjo fitting and the threaded fitting on the block. It was ghettofabulous, but it got me home.

What a beeoch

Well...seems a couple of decades ago when i replaced the stock line swith those 'burst proof" lines
they eliminated the banjo fittings. Arghhhhhh
SS lines from $OR don't fit!
Cline Co. to the rescue! SS ones made with ASE fittings while I waited. Cheaper than $OR even.
There is one connection at the side of the block BEHIND the header that is almost...almost...
impossible to get to.
That one fitting took 3 hours of struggling to re-connect. I had to step away a couple of times to
keep from blowing the truck up in anger.
God Bless the inventor of pivot head ratcheting wrenches.
Done deal. Gundy is back...baby!

That's good to hear that everything is back together. As far as that connection that's back under the header goes...I screwed with mine for about 10 minutes and then just pulled the header off. I've gotten to the point now, that if it's in my way, I'm going to pull it instead of trying to work around it. That's horrible about the missing fittings, but I'm glad you were able to get the custom ones.
