My oil light comes on during first start-up every morning for a short amount of time(1 to 2 minutes) then shuts off. The oil is full and pressure is good. Has anyone had this problem with their oil sensor, or know if is a common LandCruiser problem, or could this be another problem?

Yea, it is the low oil level light.

Are you parked on a hill?
Does it go off before of after you move the vehicle? If you don't move it will it turn off?

Mine did that too for about a week!! It would happen at the same spot of the road every morning for about a 1/4 mile, then fo off!! I changed the oil, (which was full), the Friday of that week, and on Monday, when I drove it past the same spot, it didn't come on and hasn't since!! I almost posted about it, but didn't. That's funny your's is doing the same. BTW, Mine's a 97 with 159K just for comparison.

Check you oil right after shutdown, then after 10 minutes and then after an hour and then after overnight sit, the 80's oil filter can drain making a false high reading, especially if you use the large filter, I have heard the level sensor is very sensitive, never has come on in my truck,

I am not sure when is the right time for checking to oil on an 80, it is the first vehicle I have had that has suck a variable reading

I second the false high reading suggestion. When i first got my truck and changed the oil, i added exactly what the book suggested. THe oil light would come on and go off intermitently (sp? sorry). Checking the oil on the dipstick showed that the oil was at the proper level. The next oil change i added just a little more than the book suggested. No light. Now when i do a filter/oil change i add 8 quarts and have never had the light come on again.

Ours just started coming on this week as well, just this one spot on the freeway for 45-60secs. I have checked the oil level hot and cold and both are above the add spot on the dipstick. I am going to change the oil tomorrow and see if that helps.
