When I purchased my 2013 I had the valve cover gasket replaced as the car inspector thought this was the issue on the oil leak. I've had this issue since then. Attached some photos. Please let me know if I need to give more info or need to take more strategic photos. Did this when I did an oil change last week.

I have had the exact same symptoms on my GX for about 40k miles. My leak is coming from the timing cover and driver side valve cover. I would bet its the same on yours. Dealer quoted me like 4k to fix it. I change the oil every 5k miles and check it every few weeks. hasn't been a big enough problem for me to drop 4k on yet.

How bad is the leak? e.g.:
  1. Are you having to add oil between services?
  2. Is it dripping on your driveway?
  3. Or is everything just moist?
If it's option 1 and/or three, I probably wouldn't worry about it.
If you're having to add oil between services, yeah, I'd want it fixed.

1. No.
2. It's over the skid plate so I don't see anything on the driveway, but whatever is on the skidplate was dry.
3. Some caked, some moist + burning smell after driving.

I'd clean the area around the valve cover gaskets and then monitor that area for leaks. A friend had leaking valve cover gaskets on his 100 series that he kept putting off. The oil got all over his alternator. The battery died and he got stranded on the road. Luckily he was local and not in the middle of some trail. We pulled out the alternator to get it tested - it failed. The shop guy noticed the oil all over the alternator and said that could've been a reason for the failure.

Already done the valve cover gasket, but could have failed. Tough to get in there to clean but my first thought was to clean it all and then watch where the leak is.

I have a similar weeping situation in my 460 and my alternator is covered(very similar to yours), I think I have diagnosed mine as timing cover. My valve cover gaskets are good and nothing from my pan or filter housing.

In my opinion before you do anything, you need to clean your whole engine bay from dirt and oil residue. Once clean, you‘ll be able to see exactly from where your leak is coming from. Maybe you have more then one! Good luck.
