Last week i had the heater T blow up on me. I noticed dripping from the radiator. I have narrowed it down to the two bolts on either side on the bottom. I cant find any other location where i see coolant dripping. Will need to replace radiator.

When i did the timing belt i replaced both cam seals. There was oil on the PS and i thought i took care of it with the new seals. While looking for the coolant leak i noticed that once again i have oil leaking from the PS cam seal.

There are a few threads mentioning the PCV being a possible problem for this. Is there another problem area i missed while doing the timing belt? I dont see any leaks from the HG seal or any leaks above the cam seals for that matter.

Is there another seal behind the cam seal i missed? I have a non VVTi so i dont think i have a seal internally to the crank.

1. This part does have play in it.

2. Oil around the cover.

3. Not sure what this is, but its oily also.

Mine had a similar coolant spot but I could see it dripping from the bottom of the top radiator hose then down the side of the radiator to the skid. Tightened the top radiator hose and fixed the problem. This only happened after it was warm then cooled down. Your tensioner mount should not be vibrating. I used blue thread lock on mounting bolts for mine when I changed both tensioners. Not sure on your cam seals. Haven't done the TB job myself but I am sure others would want to see behind the three piece TB cover before making any guesses.

The last picture looks like the power steering inlet hose, mine was seeping. I just picked up new 5/8 hose for the inlet and 3/8 hose for the return today.

I like cleaning with degreaser, detergents with very high pressure hot water, really good. Then watching very close and often. Easy to see where stars, before runs and drip distort.

Did you remove T-belt cover to see cam seal is leaking?

Thanks for the tips all. Ill clean and check for leaking area. Ill check power steering hose. I did not take the cover off the cam seal. And get the tensioner mount looked at. I think im going to take this to the mechanic...too many other fires going. But i will make a list and give it to the mechanic to look over.

Possible the coolant is coming from hose or even drain. If hose was put back on at slight angle or dirty they can easily leak.

Without taking off Timing Belt covers, I know of no way to determine cam seals (PS or DS) from crank seal leak. A leak (oil or coolant) from area can be seen at weep hole at bottom of T-belt cover.

Plugged PCV will increase pressure internally in engine, and will most certainly cause oil leaks and may increase oil consumption. PCV is one of the easiest and cheapest PM's, but often overlooked.

Toyota uses AFT fluid in Power steering. Flushing with fresh ATF the color will be red, making identification easier. Flushing with something like M1 synthetic MV ATF (with it's seal modifiers) will help tighten seals as well.

I bought a PCV from local parts store. I check the one already on engine and thee was no issue with it. I could here the inside working and did not see any clogging or residue of any kind. The hose was a bit stiff but otherwise no tears.

I cleaned the heck out of the engine top and underside. Ill keep an eye on it the next day or two. Right now i have multiple items i need checked so i will just take it to the mechanic and have him do the list of items i have. Tie rods, oil leak, Rack and Pinion, Torn steering boots, Pressure test radiator, check power steering pump.
