Hey All,

I recently added an intercooler and noticed some oil around the turbo intake pipe. Also while driving, a weird noise that started coming from that area that sounds like wind noise whenever i put my foot on the gas. It's different from the typical whistle I hear from the turbo. Almost sounds like wind noise. I drove it the other day and didn't notice this sound at all. And today, all of a sudden it is there and super noticeable. Driving this thing I am in tune with every little noise this car makes and have a sense of what is normal. This certainly didn't sound normal to me.

Im wondering if it could be one of the couplers just got loose and I need to retighten all the clamps, however I'm not sure if its related to this oil that I'm seeing splattered on this pipe.

Any thoughts on what it could be? I appreciate your help/time. Thanks!

The wind noise should not be related to the oil, I would get double-checking the connections. Most likely it is post turbo (pressurized side) and one of the pipes needs a little tightening.
The oil at the turbo intake seems really odd... this is the side pulling air in from the air cleaner? Usually if there is some oil it is on the turbo egress/pressured side... and a little is normal, especially if it is an older turbo. Some oil gets by the seals. Eventually when enough oil is getting by, it is time for a rebuild.
